What are some famous movies about ice?

I know there are lots of movies about ice (adventure, horror, exploration genres) but I can't seem to find a list. What movies do you know of that feature a lot of ice or are based in the north or south pole?

There's a horror movie called 30 days of night. the story takes place in alaska. it's based on vampires but not like the vampires of twilight. It is not subjected on ice but it's a great movie! Also, you can watch the series of ice age. Big miracle is based upon ice. Vertical Limit is a superb movie based on mountain climb.

Ice Age is cool. No pun intended.

Also that Vampire movie set in the north pole, think it's called 30 Days of Night.

Also wasn't one of the Terminator/Predator movies set in lots of Ice. Can't remember which one but it was a good one.

The action film "Vertical Limit" takes place on the snow-covered mountain "K2" in Pakistan.

Well, there is "Miracle on Ice" and there is "Cutting Edge" which both involve and are centralized around ice (however both movies revolve around ice skating/hockey).

Ok...first thing that came to my mind was "The Ice Princess"! Sorry about that.
"The day after tomorrow" is a fascinating movie and also "Eight below" - involves sled dogs and an Antarctica base, a story about friendship and survival - also told from the dogs perspective. Makes a great watch.

OK, off the top of my head, not including the ones already mentioned and in no particular order:

    Cool Runnings
The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe
    On Her Majesty's Secret Service
Predator Vs. Alien (really not good though)
    The Heroes of Telemark
    For Your Eyes Only
    Ice Station Zebra
    Where Eagles Dare
    The Polar Express
    The Snowman
    Fargo
    The Ice Storm
    and anything involving Father Christmas.

How about Titanic?  Ice is certainly pivotal to the plotline...

Ice Age, Ice Castles, Ice Princess

Ice age in this movie was caused by a "nuclear winter

    "Quintet" (1979) starred Paul Newman

Snow dogs was a pretty cool movie. About a dentist from Miami going to Alaska and racing in a dog sled race. Kind of a comedy but a good family movie

9 1/2 Weeks wasn't about ice, but the most memorable scene in the movie involved one lucky ice cube.

The obvious "ice" related movie is the movied titled "Titanic" and it was just re-released last week in 3D.

The Titanic hit an iceberg on April 14, 1912.

The movie "Titanic" was released December 17, 1997 and topped the chart for over 12 years for the highest grossing movie. Avatar eventually topped this epic movie production.

The budget for the movie was said to have been $200 million and it grossed in excess of....get ready for this big figure....over $1.8 billion (yes, with the "b").

Are you interested in ice skating love stories too?
