   If you uncovered the truth behind a lie, would you tell the truth?
   
   Ok. let's say that you were going through some old papers in the attic and found that a possible grudge one sibiling had for another was based on a lie. The truth would clear the name of a sibiling that is deceased and perceived to be ungrateful, which was a lie? Do you tell or keep it to yourself, when you have the proof in your hand (literally!)

   Tell the truth to alleviate the pain and anger still remaining with those who are still alive, for their own benefit.

      I agree, but its tricky opening up old wounds didn't want to seem like I was starting anything, but I stumbled upon the truth (literally.)

      Oh..you are right..opening old wounds...
      Then perhaps you can determine the right time to open it so it won't be so painful.

   Tell the truth! You have all the evidences, show it. It is unfair for the deceased person to be perceived as ungrateful, even after his death. Everybody deserves the truth, no matter how painful it will be, because only the truth can set us free.

   It would be your moral obligation to surrender the truth that has fallen into your hands. Truth in this world is in short supply, so being able to render some truth would help to alleviate the surplus of lies that are circulating around this planet.
   
   Moreover, I do not see this as opening up "new wounds", but rather stitching up and dressing an old wound so it can heal.

   I would keep this to myself because the sibling is deceased and nothing would be gained by telling the truth and bringing up old wounds. Always live in the now because nothing else will make you happier.

   I think if children are involved, that yes, truth would have to come forth, because it's a life lesson to teach that honesty is the way to go.
