How do you handle fast-food mess up orders? Details!

What do you do when you order and pay for certain items only to find they have been altered, or not included at all when served?

Hi Taylor, if you are a picky person like me I always go back show them the recipt and say hey you messed up my order this isn't what I asked for. They should always give you what you ordered and if not you should go back because if they messed up yours that could have changed up everyone elses as well. Good luck girl:)

I normally go back the next time and talk to the manager, this will help them know there is work to be done on their team and to make it right with you as well.

I just quietly ask that they check  the order for me because I believe there is a mistake.

I don't do any shouting. Getting the server upset is not going to do any good., I have seen customers shrieking at waiting staff, all that makes me want to do is step up for the server, and call the customer an idiot. Having a quiet word has given me free items. One place gave me a complete refund and a free meal voucher as well as cinema tickets for my wife and I.

A few times I have noticed waiting staff miss off a drink charge, I always point out ommissions to my favor too. Quite often managers and staff have thanked me and waived the charge anyway. That is nice, but I also feel much better when order disputes are amicable and friendly.

I usually inform the management and see what they come up with to deal with the situation. I don't get aggressive like some people, no need for such sillyness.
