Among the island chains to have increased in land area are Tuvalu and neighbouring Kiribati, both of which attracted attention at last year's Copenhagen climate summit, amidst alarmist claims that they were sinking due to man-made global warming.
So, yet another of the claimed catastrophic effects of man-made global warming is debunked. The hoax is collapsing under the weight of its own monstrous lies and deceptions.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldne … hange.html
The next time you are asked to pay carbon taxes, support cap and trade legislation, or buy carbon credit offsets, say no!
Not so sure that backs up your argument...
[He said the study suggested the islands had a natural ability to respond to rising seas by accumulating coral debris from the outlying reefs that surround them.
"It has long been thought that as the sea level goes up, islands will sit there and drown. But they won't," Professor Kench said.]
The article, nor the authors of the study imply that global warming is not real.
What is at issue is the way ecosystems - in this instance pacific islands - respond to climate change.
Their response in this instance has been contrary to what previous observations have shown: the islands are adapting to climate change.
Implicit in this observation is the fact that climate change is real. Shrink or expand, the islands are reacting. And in ways not previously seen.
No.one disputes that the climate is changing. It always has and it always will.
The the real issue is not whether climate change is real, and whether the planet is warming or not. The real issue is
“whether human CO2 emissions will have a catastrophic and irreversible effect on the life on this planet unless we act now to stop it”
This is the issue, and the solution proposed by Al Gore is carbon offset credits and carbon taxes. This is his baby and he stands to make billions from it. He says that Carbon taxes will save the planet. But, manifestly, carbon credits DO NOT WORK, and would do nothing to help save the planet EVEN IF what Al Gore says was true (and it isn’t).
And to justify the need for cutting CO2 emissions, imposing cap and trade systems, Al and the IPCC have invented a whole series of alarmist, armaggedon scenarios to scare the public into accepting whatever they say. The Pacific Islands sinking is just one of many lies. Others (equally untrue) are the Himalayan glaciers melting, polar bears dying, etc . .
But Sanny, the Iceland glacier really IS melting! Surely that's proof positive that it's due to man produced CO2?
I like the way that Climate Change skeptics try and justify their failings in all aspects of the environment by denying global warming.
Even if Climate Change does not exist, even I am a skeptic now - particularly as I live a stones throw from the UEA, we all have a strong responsibility to minimise our environmental impacts.
Whilst rising sea levels may not kill us, the irreversable human effects on our ecological systems probably will.
Our consumption patterns have destroyed ecological systems in rainforests, oceans, huge areas of previously arable land. Our scarce resources are continiously stretched.
We are effectively killing ourselves by erradicating our own organic food sources, destroying the medicines of tomorrow, and by ineffectively distributing dwindling resources.
Climate change may not exist, but plenty of other environmental issues do. The Haiti tragedy, as a strong example, was worsened by the almost complete deforestation of the island by Western companies.
If world governments see the installation of fear into communities as a way to get people to change their consumption habits then so be it, thats a perfectly plausible way to try and change the world for the better in my eyes.
I will point out however that there can be absolutely no denial that Polar Bears are dying, that is categorically proven. Not only because of the melting of ice but also because their food supplies have been decimated.
I was going to respond with something like this, but you said it for me. Thanks.
Tell that to the people from many Pacific Islands who have had to move their homes (previously close to the waters edge) due to rising levels. This is a true indicator of the changing effects of climate change.
Ryankett - Well said. I endorse your message wholeheartedly.

This is a very serious issue which i wanted to raised among all the people who are member of Hub Pages. We can suggest some new, useful and good ideas about how to save the world from global warming. What are you waiting for ? please let's get started and save the world.Post you suggestions!

The earth is so huge. And people are so small. Are we really contributing to the build-up of C02 in the upper atmosphere(s) by:1. Burning fossil fuels, 2. Cutting down forests 3. Farming livestock.https://news.climate.columbia.edu/2021/ … l-warming/"Fossil fuels produce large quantities...

I'm confused. I've read and heard arguments that global warming is really just part of a natural temperature change process for the earth. I've also read that it's completely man-made? Is it one or both of these? Please explain.
