At the beginning of the year people have new year's resolutions, one of the most common is getting fit or losing weight. I'm curious if anyone has been keeping up with that goal.

    I have smile

Initially it was one of my resolutions but I'm ashamed to say I didn't adhere to the plan in January. Good new is.... I'm on board now!

its just kind of funny to see all these new people at the gym for the first two or three months of the year, and gradually they start coming less and then don't show up anymore. very few last until may - june i noticed.

One of my goals for 2010 was to get more active. Since then my fiance and I have joined the gym, started taking ballroom dance lessons, gone for more hikes and we have recently also joined a squash club. I also go to Pilates or Yoga in the mornings for about 3 to 5 times a week.

From January to about May we have followed the body for life program and went to gym 6 times a week. Since it has been getting colder, we have not gone that regularly any more, but at least 3 times a week. We also want to start playing squash Saturday and Sunday mornings instead of doing cardio.

So I guess my fitness goal has been going excellent! The trick is just to sign up for the stuff and to just go and do it.

That was my resolution both last year and this year, I stuck with it all last year and I was on track to hit my goal weight this summer...but my resolution went down the drain in March, when I found out I was pregnant. I still exercise regularly and eat healthy, but something tells me I won't be losing any weight any time soon tongue.

This is my resolution for this year and I plan to do it more this month on exercise and see where it takes me. I have already lost 10 pounds but I plan to work harder and stay focused..I get cravings for sweets every now and then if you know what I mean and it is hard to resist, but I promised myself this month I was going to eat more fruit..

When at the gym try mixing it up more with aerobic, pilates or even a personal trainer. Try new things. The hardest part is getting hrough the door!

I went back to the gym at 61 not only deciding to get fit but also to get strong and at 64 have a 500 lb leg press to my credit.

I see no reason for a senior to waste away, even having open heart surgery at 5 and being pre-diabetic hasn't slowed me down.

Although I believe in exercise, I turn the exercise movement upside down and turn it into a weight lifting event.

Actually it is not the question of taking resolutions. As there is popularly said..Resolutions are taken generally to break it. Fitness should be one's way of life. It is more important to think about one's happiness,.well being both physically and mentally. It should be part of our daily activities.

Fitness should be done in such a manner so that we can enjoy it. Fitness practice also gives us the confidence and help anyone to develope the personality also. So we have to understand its relevance in our day do day life. Then we will love to enjoy it and even if we dont take any resolution..we'll continue with our Fitness Routine.

Just purchased two medicine balls to help me when I cannot make it to the gym.

"Fitness should be a way of life." - completely agree.

We are moving and our gasoline bills are through the roof so the medicine balls were a good investment - but alas ONLY IF I use them!
