AdSense: $0, or I don't have it setup right?

   Shouldn't after 4 weeks on HubPages at least 1 cents appeared in my AdSense account? I'm wondering how to verify I've got everything set up right with AdSense. Do you have any suggestions?

      Ms Dee, I've been through this on my account just recently
      
      I already had adsense and followed the verification and received the email from adsense to confirm but still it said on all my hubs that I should sign up for adsense.
      In the affiliate settings, if you don't have an affiliate code populate for adsense then it's not on your HubPages account.
      
      Did you already have adsense or did you sign up after your registered here? If you signed up from here did you receive approval from adsense?

      It takes time, I am in a similar boat, and have asked this questions a few times over...Including to Relache down there )...Try reading some of the top writers posts on making money on here. You will find their insight invaluable. Be patient, and try to get more hubs up.

   As you only have eight Hubs and have been with the site for just four weeks, it's completely plausible that you haven't achieved any earnings from AdSense yet.

   To check that you are actually showing your adsense adverts, login to your adsense account.
   
   Does it say "impressions" next to adsense for content? If yes, that means your adverts are being shown.
   
   However, you need to remember that only about 5% of visitors will click an advert. And 40% of the time, hubpages will be showing their adverts.
   
   So out of 1000 clicks only 600 people will see your adverts and out of those people only a handful might click.

   Any form of earning good money online is a long-term game.  Personally, I have set a target to produce 1000 hubs... I believe 1000 hubs will consistently generate me a good full-time income.  So far I have just over 100, but have been aide-tracked by life this year.
   
   1000 hubs.... sounds a lot.  But it isn't if you break it down.  Do you want (potentially) to build a long-term residual income that just keeps arriving long after you did the work....?  For years...?  Yes.
   
   So, thinking of it as a long-term game, you should try to set yourself a target.  1-a-day = 1000 in 3 years.  Three years passes so quickly!
   
   Anyway, back to the question .... I've just pulled up my earnings account.  At first, I was like you, I published a few hubs ... and left it.  It wasn't for a couple of years when I suddenly realised one of them's been doing rather well... and I started to write more.
   
   I've just this week made my first £1000 on hubs, but if I'd not bothered after seeing £0.15 in month two .... then that would have been one of the biggest mistakes of my online earning efforts.
   
   Earnings for year 1 were just £30.  I'd just written a few and left it.
   
   Earnings for year 2 were just £82 - I still hadn't realised.
   
   Earnings for the past 8 months have been £650.... if only I'd realised sooner and written more/consistently in the early days!

      How many hubs had you written at the end of years one and two, and had you done any backlinking or anything?
      
      I've just made Adsense payout after eleven months (OK, call it ten months because my first hub - written in month 1 - was poetry and with 53 views in total, it's never going to earn anything anyway ). 
      
      I've done quite a bit of work on writing the hubs themselves, and a fair bit of backlinking too, and I'm at the stage where I'm wondering if it's all been too much work for too little gain.  But the more optimistic side of me says "hang in there".  Because I too would LOVE to be able to earn a living from my online writing.  Or at least enough money to act as a "cushion" during times when my IRL earnings take a nosedive.

         To be honest, I didn't do any backlinking in those early years.  Simply wrote a few hubs, wrote it all off as a waste of time ... and left it.
         
         In those days, hubpages was harder to use - and it wasn't too compatible with the browser I was using.  They've added a lot of features since.  It's really easy to use now (my browser no longer freezes/crashes).
         
         But ... one of my hubs, by luck, took off .... and was popular.  And I started to notice it was having a tiny payout every day.  That made me sit up and come back to hubs late last year.
         
         Since then though, I've had some problems keeping me away ... but I will get to my 1000 one day. 
         
         Now I backlink at least once per hub, when published, then try to backlink randomly where there's an opportunity that presents itself.

   If you've got impressions then you know you set it up right. Even with just 8 hubs, if you're getting some traffic to your hubs you should be seeing impressions in your Adsense account. I would not expect getting much (if any) money if those 8 hubs are the only places you have Adsense ads.
