Just wanted to share! It gets 120 searches a day but is worth completely nothing. Dare say it won't be number 1 for long, but it's a good feeling while it's there smile
Competition is 500,000 for the broad phrase.

Where are you taking that competition statistic from IzzyM?

I know IzzyM recently got her free trial of Market Samurai so I'm assuming she's been using that!

Congrats IzzyM! I can't wait till I make it there sad

Yeah this hub always sat around the bottom of the front page of google, and after changing one phrase in the hub thanks to MS, it jumped up to number 3. Today, probably only for a brief time, its number 1.
          MS is great!

It's great! I actually have another hub at number 1, but its not a .com search term as it is an English phrase. I didn't know that until I saw my poor wee hub didn't even make the front page of google.co.uk.
But this one is number 1 on both smile Woo-hoo!

Well done Izzy! With your ability to figure out the stats, you might be able to figure out how to turn it into a buy keyword.

Strange you should mention that, but I actually got a click on this hub yesterday, then another a few minutes ago. Wow! So much for the zero earnings then!

Are you talking about your Mediterranean sharks hub?
I do see some Adsense ads there that might have some value and of course you can sale those Amazon products.

How did you figure out it was that one? lol
Yes it is, worth nothing but its nice to be 'up there' smile I wrote it out of interest, before I knew anything about keyword research or it'd never have got written!

I am from the HP staff and I know about all your hubs!(kidding lol)

LoL... I almost always figure the hub out whenever someone talks about any of their hubs. In your case you gave quite a lot of clues for me to figure out.

Congrats, IzzyM! I can hear the excitement. One of my website's keywords (not HP) made it to Google's page 2, and even that got me so excited. I can't wait to get to page one myself!

Thanks GG! I had another hub that got to number 2 during the week, after sitting at around number 5 for weeks, then hours later it disappeared completely! Maybe it got google-slapped or something, but I checked as far back as page 3 and then gave up.
Pity, cos it was worth $300 for the number one spot!

    Way to go, IzzyM!

I'm a bit in the dark as to how you're using MS to analyze your hub for phrases - but it seems like it's a valuable technique. Do they have a video that explains this?

    wildernessposted 13 years ago

Way to go Izzy!  It takes some good hard work to accomplish that - you've don well.  Although I've got several on first page, none better than about #4 or #5.  Just not in your class yet. big_smile

The  search term is definitely not worth 0, use it for traffic! Build another hub on Mediterranean shark fishing, another one on Mediterranean sea diving advertise some books on mediteranian sharks!

It might not earn you much, but it can still earn!

Congratulations! And the hub is awesome! I am sure it will start brining you revenue pretty soon.

Thanks everyone for all the congrats smile

@SmartRookie, it was to do with adding the title keyword phrase into the first sentence of the hub. It was in the second sentence (I sometimes write long sentences) and it missed being picked up by the description tag (or whatever its called).

@Thisisoli, good idea smile MIght do after the challenge (already have my subjects picked out).

@Widerness - well done! You'll get there yet!

Anyway, read up cos I'm not there anymore, and number 3 looks stronger than mine. I'd need to go some to beat 1000 backlinks (I've none). Still, shows it can be done, eh?

    1. thisisoli profile image71
thisisoliposted 13 years agoin reply to this

WHen it comes to backlinks, a link is not a link.  Pull in a few high quality backlinks, some good on page SEO and you can beat a site with 1000 trash backlinks.

IzzyMposted 13 years agoin reply to this

Really? That's excellent to know, Thisisoli! I can check the quality of backlinks but my internet access is so slow I  don't bother most of the time. Thanks smile
