Just an FYI, five of the Alexa top ranked Social bookmarking websites have banned Hub Pages links due to spam content. This shtinks, since newer people trying to drive traffic to their articles using these tools cannot.
I was able to bypass one and set up bookmarks, but Mr. Wong, Propeller and a few others are a no go.
To avoid this event, I cannot post the sites that do allow bookmarking, which also stinks, because the cool writers would really enjoy them.

Spammers ruin the party for everyone...
The annoying thing is you can pretty much guarantee that the people responsible for this are also the ones who write spammy content on here and then bookmark every single one of their own articles andnothing else.
Oli, I don't think you're right. Often, the people who create this problem are naive newbies.
You can't blame them really - they join forums and see all this advice to go and get backlinks, so off they go and dutifully do it.
We all have to remember, every time we talk about backlinks, to remind people that bookmarking their own work on social bookmarking sites is a quick way to get themselves, and everyone else, banned.
Yup. I have been running the list to see which BM sites are banned or open and would be best suited for my type of articles (food mostly). Almost all Alexa rankings higher than 8 are banned. Most of the popular ones between 5-7 are not food related. {grumbles}. Okay, I vented it out.
stupid ? I know, what is spammy content? Seriously, I don't know.
Spammy content is something like them 'auntie' pics and...
Mr Wong hasn't banned HP unless they did it on the past two hours.
I think HP has been banned from Propeller for awhile.
Where else are they banned.
Reddit bans people for no reason so I wouldn't worry about that too much.
HP's been banned from Mixx for ages.
And I didn't know you could link to Technorati anymore, I thought they stopped that ages ago.
I do not know, as I am new to using them.
Am trying to limit my bm's to 3-4 locations, you know, to avoid the issues of overcrowding. I bounce links here and to another site for diversity.
I assume you're also bookmarking several other sites every time you bookmark a Hub?
If not, you may have been the subject of a personal ban on Mr Wong.
For instance, on StumbleUpon it's recommended you bookmark 10 other sites for very one of your own sites.
No. I signed up for Mr Wong and imported my Delicious list (about 20 links). They said 2 days to complete the upload, 4 days ago. Logged in today and posted a new link, which was auto-ed to private and can't be changed to public.
I have 3-4 BM sites already, so Mr. W is of no concern really.
The others are excellent, especially Reddit, Delicious and Diigo.
Oh, side bar, I did get an invite to the new magnolia, which I haven't responded to, for again, over linking concerns.
My non-hub bm's are spread pretty well. I just surprised me about the ban thing.
I shy away from social bookmarking and prefer to have a profile page at a site that I really like to get into, such as writing a blog or something similar. That way by being proactive on the site you will never get banned.
Also if you are quite active you can get some decent traffic.
If you want some nice backlinks go to http://www.dipity.com/ and join up. In the comments section on your profile page leave a html code anchor text link.
When you join add me as a friend and I will add back. If we all did this the internal linking power and subsequent search bot activity would find our links quick time.

To me, bookmark is not to good. I saw in my analytic that the bookmark cannot bring traffic much
It's not about bringing the traffic, forlan.
It's about backlinks. Search engines are impressed by links pointing to a page or site. Backlinks are complicated, I'd suggest you read some hubs on them.
I personally don't really bookmark because I'd rather have high quality backlinks.

I was getting quite a bit of traffic from Stumbleupon, but the last while I notice it hasn't been accepting my submissions from Hubpages. They say that it's to prevent people from abusing the sytem and just promoting one site all the time. Does anybody know of a way around this?

I was wondering how often a hub should be social bookmarked and if my internet history is deleted i do not know which hubs I bookmarked. I don't want to be considered a spammer. How many hubs do you guys bookmark at a given time and do you usually bookmark the low traffic or high or?

I am starting to learn how to social bookmark. I've been doing it on twitter, facebook, igoogle, digg, delicious, diigo, my blogs, pingomatic and a few other places. I have only been doing it on some of these sites for the last four or five days. It probably takes a while to see...

Just tried to use propeller to put up a few hubs... got this message on the first one... " This domain has been banned for the following reason: "pr0n spam" "What's the deal with this? Is everywhere going to be banning the HP domain?ProCW

IzzyM and I have been chatting about backlinking, and disagreeing on what's the best way to go about it. She's been spending hours backlinking her Hubs on social bookmarking and backlinking sites, because she feels that's been recommended on the forums by Hub gurus. I'm not at all sure that's...

First of, I don't really know what I'm talking about, or to be more specific, I don't know the name of what I am talking about. But thanks to a few hubbers on here, I have taken to backlinking the easy way. You backlink a hub to...for example...shetoldme...or blurbalicious...one of them anyway.Then...
