I have just written my first sales hub. Would like to know if I am on the right track with the layout and such. I kept it between 500-600 words even though at first I thought it was shorter. I been procrastinating a long time about writing one of these, but I finally did. I kept it relatively basic, but not to basic I guess...

I like it - although some people who are far more in the know than me will be able to give you lots of advice im sure.
I am definitely no expert, but I think you have a nice layout and your words are good, not a pushy salesperson type. I gave it a thumbs up.
Good use of the pics, because you're not blocking the best ad placement in the top right.
If Amazon's your deal, I'd recommend using a link block (box?) underneath the picture, link it to your Amazon "image only" URL...
You'll get all the profit (rather than sharing with HP).
I'd also recommend:
1) Don't use big chunky paragraphs. Online copywriting and content should have more whitespace.
3-4 sentences, tops, per paragraph.
2) I'd add about 500 more words, it seems really short (but you alone know if it's working or not the way it is). The benefit is both for the reader and for your SEO - more content = more ways to get spidered and ranked.
Also: more images would do that, too.
also not an expert - but here are some thoughts
I think you have the right layout and balance but there are two things I would mention.
1. Break up the text in your modules into paragraphs, instead of one large chunk - mostly because it is much easier to read - but also because it allows the reader to scan the text if they desire - and allows you to use bold paragraph titles, which would give another opportunity for keyword optimization.
2. Somewhere near the end of the text module- next to your first Amazon listing you should include some phrase or sentence that would serve as a "call to action" to prompt the reader with a reason to click the sales link. Same for the end of the last text module before your final Amazon listings.
Give them the information
provide the sales link
give them a reason or "nudge" to click on the link.
GA
ps. concerning the effort to get adsense clicks on a sales hub - I would venture that you will probably only get one click from a reader - do you want them to click away from you to some other site that has paid adsense to get them - or do you want them to click your sales link so you get a commission.
pss. sales commissions are generally more revenue for you than an adsense click.
looks good to me. You might want to include your top three products or soemthing though, flesh it out a little and provide a few extra keywords in the article that might draw in a visitor or two!
I originally had more text capsules, but took them off for some reason. I see what you mean though.
Thanks for some of the tips.
yeah not bad at all,i personally would of added maybe 5 differetn weight benches,a little description of each and then a 2-3 item sales ad next to each description paragraph and then 10-12 item advert at the bottom of your hub.Still good start though!!

I have been playing with some different layouts as to where I have been putting the photos, amazon ads, and etc. I don't have a lot of traffic. I'm starting to learn about marketing, keywords, and SEO. Even so, I don't have a way to judge how people are perceiving the hubs as far as eye appeal. You...

Hello Hubbers,Just a quick question for the more experienced hubpage authors:For maximum revenues, do you recommend AdSense and Amazon together on your commercial hubs or *just* AdSense alone? From what I read it seems the bulk of revenues are via AdSense, but I could use some direct input and...

Are Amazon links in hub a waste of time?Do people even click on those? How likely are people to buy something just after reading a hub?
