Hi, blogger once deleted my blog saying that i was comment spamming, actually, i had only commented on around 8 blogs. I was using a blogspot domain. But now i have a custom domain though ob blogger. Do i still stand the same risk of losing my blog or could it be that they only care about blogspot domains.

Nothing changes with a domain on blogger.

Basically it just gives your traffic an easier and shorter address - it's still hosted by blogger.

Did you comment on other blogs and include a link to your own blog in every comment?  That's spamming.  If you do it again, you'll probably get in trouble again.

If you are spamming, you are spamming, whether it is 8 or 800.

Likewise, if you are NOT spamming, 800 comments is 800 useful additions to somebody's pages.

It's just the same as here on HubPages. Well, here you actually have a "freebie" link here, because both your profile picture and your HubPages name link back to you.
...but, as Marisa said, putting your link in a comment even to say, "please check out my hub," is spamming, anywhere.
Unless you are in the Extreme Makeover forum wink

I put a comments facility on my new site and got spam in under 24 hours. I've now put recaptcha on it. 75% of my hub comments are spam, it's really irritating.

I'm now going after blog spammers and reporting them to their advertising providers - this is the best way to stop them.

Well, thank you for your advice. I did not know that even 8 comments can be spamming. The thing is that i had written meaningful comments and it was not for SEO. So now, are you advising me to forget about blog comments?

Blog commenting that adds meaningful content is certainly welcomed by millions of blog owners. Unfortunately blogger has a reputation for being harsh with their polices. You can search for terms such as "blogger blog  deleted" and find plenty of complaints of how well respected blogs were deleted without valid reason.

I also maintain a series of blogspot blogs, but I know they can disappear without warning. It is one of the risks of using a "free" blogging platform.

For anything of value, I would suggest implementing a self hosted blog.

I would suggest that unless a comment box has a specific slot where they request your web page, you do not put any links in, ever.

Do you mean that it is ok to put my site address in the slot which says "Website" or "URL" on the comment box, and its only not ok when i put the link in the comment section?

That is probably a good practice.
