Does anyone know anything about this site please?
Yet another of my hubs has been stolen and duplicated - this time at this site without any credit given or a link back and what makes this crazy is that it is written in the first person and includes an autographed CD cover signed to me. Whoever stole my hub has copied all of it including the ads and artwork.
I am wondering if it is worthwhile sending a complaint to their email address? I cannot see anything else I can do!
You could try doing that. I have also noticed that the webpage has Google ads on it so you could threaten them with reporting them to Google Adsense as I believe it is against Adsense's terms of service to have ads on pages which infringe copyright.
Steve, I am not familiar with the specific site you mention but I am having more and more problems with content being just lifted and posted as someone else's original stuff. I have mixed success in getting them to take it down. Sometimes they do, but other times it is really hard to find the site administrator, or I find them but then they have some ungodly requirement for 'proving' its my content. So lately I've just been letting it go because it takes up so much of my time fighting it. I hate it. Most of the sites that won't take the stuff down are off in Asia somewhere.

Yep what Bristol boy said. Send them email, and if they don't react report them to adsense.
Thanks for the suggestion, Bristol Boy and Misha for your approval of the idea!
Bill, in the statistics for my account/your account there is a list of hubs and if there is a problem you get an alert posted. In this case it was a red copyright infringement alert.
Meaning that you were being accused of the plagiarism?
No, meaning that hubpages has detected that what is posted in your hub has been posted elsewhere and it gives you the link! It is for you to deal with the matter though and hubpages does not penalise you. It can be annoying to find your article stolen though if there is no credit to you at all, no link and not even your name on the article! It's just outright theft of material and not rewritten or anything!
Ahh. Understood. Thanks for holding my hand through this thread. I am relatively new here and still learning the ropes.
I can only imagine how pissed you must be when this happens. It is good that HP has some mechanism in place to try to combat it. But I imagine in this Brave New World of the internets, if people want to steel, they are going to figure out how to without getting caught.
Obviously these folks ARE getting caught.
I recently went through this type of thing, seems it's fairly common amongst hubbers with either high author scores or lots of hubs published. The most recent case involved one person who created a bunch of blog.in accounts and just copy pasted the source code from my hubs over onto their blog.
Right now, if you were to look at my statistics screen, it's a see of copyright symbols.
My sympathies, gamergirl! It is really annoying seeing this happen!
I had a point but I rambled too much and lost it:
I contacted the blog company and filed a complaint. Within 72 hours, they pulled all three blogs that this spammer had created down! I had to remember to keep my cool, and that if I just waited the time out, but was firm and persistent, I'd win.
I totally won.
Excellent news - good for you, Gamergirl!
I have the same problem, I have emailed a few of the sites that copied my articles, 3 have deleted the articles, so that is okey, I was just annoyed by a government website that copied my article they just mentioned that the article is from hubpages but there is no link.
My other problem is people just copying and pasting some part of the article to forum, or some are pasting a part of the article to WIKI Answers. or yahoo answers.
It is really annoying having this happen but I suppose we should be flattered that our work is proving so popular and worth copying!
Something similar happened to a bloggger I know, where a government office actually used one of their pictures. You would think they would have a little more oversight in these matters.

Usually I find a couple pieces of stolen article copy on different sites. Today, it's more than enough to make me comment here. HP notifies us, adds the complaint link, and the complaint file cut-paste copy but little else to build a brick wall against content thieves. For every click...

What sites offer downloads of your hub pictures without your permission and what do you do?After the new Google Algorithm I tried searching google for my name on Hubpages and after seeing all my comments listed, but only one hub, I came across a site called "realmadridwallpapers.org"...

I wrote my first hub a few days ago. To my surprise, it was labelled duplicate content. I contacted Team HubPages about the matter because this was my original work. Now it turns out someone actually posted the full content on their Blogger account. I am now following up the issue and considering...

Hubpages, has informed me that one of my hubs has been posted to another site. I looked for myself and it was. Posted word for word. I have filed a complaint with the DMCA, asking that the article be removed. What makes me even madder, is the fact that I am not given credit as the author. I...
