Bard of Ely is a singer-songwriter, author, poet, freelancer, environmentalist and naturalist from Cardiff, Wales, now living in Portugal after relocating from Tenerife, where, under his real name Steve Andrews, he has written for the Tenerife News and Tenerife Weekly newspapers and Living Tenerife magazine. His articles cover many different subjects and he has been quoted as a "weed expert" in The Ecologist

In the UK, he has written for Kindred Spirit, Permaculture and Feed Your Brain magazines, and, collaborated with CJ Stone, for Prediction and the NFOP magazine. He had a column in the Big Issue, and it was this publication that dubbed him Bard of Ely.

As Steve Andrews, he is the author of Herbs of the Northern Shaman. And under his real name he has a Wikipedia entry.

The Bard's song You're a Liar, Nicky Wire was featured on BBC R1 Session in Wales, rave reviewed in the NME and released on Crai Records on the Taffia EP.

Bard of Ely was a co-presenter of two series of In Full View on Choice and he has appeared on many more TV programs on the BBC, BBC2 and HTV.

In 2002 and 2003, the Bard was a compère for the Avalon Stage at Glastonbury Festival and he has also played at this world famous event. On the same years, he appeared at the Green Man Festival as well.

Bard of Ely is a member of the Loyal Arthurian Warband druid order and, aptly, a Bard of Caer Abiri (Avebury).

Bard of Ely made a name for himself growing exotic fruit when he was on HTV Wales news for having the first homegrown pineapple in Wales.

Bard of Ely has been written about in books by several authors. He is in Fierce Dancing, The Last of the Hippies and Housing Benefit Hill by CJ Stone, as well as The Trials of Arthur by Christopher James Stone and Arthur Pendragon, Peter Finch's Real Cardiff, Leonard Cohen: A Remarkable Life by Anthony Reynolds and Lionel Fanthorpe's The World's Most Mysterious People.

Since the spring of 2010, Bard of Ely has been running a fansite for adventurer and environmentalist David de Rothschild.

He has two other hubpage accounts. One that is all about Tenerife and is called: Tenerife Islander. His other site is entitled Green Bard.
