Minimum Number of Hubs to Post to All Forum Sections

   People Creating HubPages Accounts to Spew Hate
   
   Has anyone else noticed the people Trolling our forum lately with few, if any, Hubs?
   
   There are several I've found that keep posting thread after thread of garbage.
   
   
   I suggest a MINIMUM number of Hubs before being able to post to any other part of the forum than the following sections:
   
   Need Help? Ask here.
   HubPages Knowledge Exchange
   Report a Problem or Suggest a New Feature
   
   
   And eventually they would have access to other sections.

      Please, no, those are the most useful areas of the forum for me, all the rest of the forum you can probably find specialist forums for elsewhere that are better.

         Oh, by default everyone should have those three sections mentioned above.

            You're not getting me. I don't care about any of the other forums. For my needs, these three forums you mention everyone getting are the only ones that are important to my use of the site.
            
            You can get the other forums anywhere.
            
            Mad political ranty forums, gardening forums, religious forums ... etc... are two a penny.
            
            Filling up our only hubpage specific forums with trolls, numpties, and nitwits who are just posting to get their score up so they can go to the other forums...
            
            would mean I would have to leave.

               For me, Edwierdo's handy addon makes the forum much more pleasant.
               
               I wish HubPages added those checkboxes to the forum and maybe unchecked all the other ones, so the new folks would need to enable them.
               
               Many of the newbs may have a tough time with addons.  I've been here a fairly long time and only today heard about the Edwierdo forum addon. 
               
               Just a thought.

   No, we have enough rules and filters to choke a horse right now. I don't want to see the forums change as a whole because of the few idiots who hang out spewing hate and whatnot in the politics or religious forums.
   
   If you see personal attacks, hate speech just report them. They'll be gone fast enough.
   
   I refuse to let these type of people rule the roost. When I came here what I liked was the wide open nature of the forums. Of course that was before the politics and religious forums became what they are today.
   
   Those forums will lose their captive audience as more hubbers implement Edweirdo's filter, and I truly believe many of these people will leave or stop posting as they do now.

   The newbies will hear about the forum filter as needed. Every time someone makes a complaint, it's brought up again. I'm glad it's making the forums more pleasant for you.

   I agree with the initial post, in principle, but more to guide newbies than to restrict rantivists. In implementation, I would make the minimum number of hubs quite small (5?) and restrict them to a single forum, "Need Help? Ask Here."
   
   A person needs to have at some experience with writing a few hubs before they can share knowledge, know that something is genuinely a problem, or know their suggestion isn't already implemented. It will help them to know the best place to ask newbie questions. After a few hubs, they will not only have some of this experience, but also be learning the distinctives of HP culture.

   I think there should be a minimum of 80 hubs required before any posting can take place.  By curious coincidence I have just reached that figure and so I am making my first 'official' post.

   I agree that we have some hubber trolls whose sole purpose seems to be using HP as a soapbox for their political or religious zealotry.
   
   But... there are many,many other forum topics out there.
   I am one of the Hub Pages "greeters." When I greet newbies, of course I encourage them to write hubs. LOTS of hubs! And of course read and comment on other people's hubs.
   But I also suggest they head over to the forums related to the topics they follow.
   Posting in forums is a good way meet hubbers with similar intereststs. It's also one of the fast-track ways to get yourself known within the HP community. Someone who sees your positive contributions in the forums is more likely to go and check out your hubs.
   
   Just my two cents.
   Having said that, I could definitely see imposing a minimum # of hubs to maintain your account. If you have been here a year and have written only 1 hub, you're probably on the wrong writing site .
