Traffic has almost doubled since yesterday

   Just looked at my hub stats and there are lots of red arroes, traffic is 300 more than yesterday. About 200 above normal.  Things are looking up.

      What worried me more is my eCPM is about 50% lower, even though my Google Analytics show my traffic is about the same level as before - so while traffic recovers, revenue hasn't.
      
      I note that I don't think this is due to the Hubpages Ad program either as the stats I am comparing to are for a period where not programs were running....

         I think we've all been seeing that Simey, judging by the drop in earnings people have reported.
         From the first day of the change, my earnings dropped 60% while my traffic didn't dip nearly as much.
         Since then, traffic has almost recovered but the eCPM and clicks remain at rock bottom.
         
         It doesn't seem to be confined to Hubpages either. I have seen forums where webmasters have also lost a significantly greater proportion of their income than they lost viewers.

            If you are in the Ad Program there may be good reason, you are only seeing the eCPM for ONE ad unit. AdSense earnings from the other FOUR are being included in with the ad program payouts. I believe.

               I have also noted some hub statistic improvement after doing some revision on my Amazon sales hubs and I hope it will be better in the coming months and earning to hope to improve

         I've done some of the same things, but not a lot. We can't assume it is cause and effect, though I did find it interesting that my Amazon earnings are noticeably up-- even though I removed a lot of Amazon entries.

   I finished tweaking and republishing all my hubs I took down today and views are through the roof. Don't know about earnings but glad to see the views.

   I've done absolutely nothing to my hubs and some of them are now back on the 1st page of Google in their rightful positions.  Especially those listed #1.  Hmmmmm.!

   Edit: Hubpages statistic pages doesn't differentiate between traffic. Use your Google Analytics to gauge your increase.

       We'll know for sure in a few days, CV!  I do know my hubs formerly on page one are back-or close- to their pre-slap listings.  A few days ago they were on page 2 or higher.  Did Rex give you permission to post on here?

                   Hoping it will bite the dust, CV!  I detest the cretins I dealt with there.  The writers would be better served elsewhere.  I know I have been.  I feel bad for the members who have contributed so much hard work there, though!

    I have seen a bit of a rebound, too, although still down on the pre-algorithm traffic. Adsense is a little better and I made my first Amazon sales this month.
    
    Pattern wise, my best performing Hubs tend to be older, with good length/view duration - some have lots of Amazon capsules, some have none. They are also fairly well backlinked - I suspect that Misha and SF were on the right track all along.
    
    My views are relatively low, so these are very tentative observations

       the sad thing is that the backlnks seem to be the key.  Before the algo change, I thought my pages did well on their own and I did not bother with backlinking.  I was happy overall with their performance.
       
       Now, I feel that there is pressure to invest in backlinking service to bring my hubs back up in the SERPs.  Since many hubs can't really "stand on their own" they may need a boost.

    My traffic has fallen back again, but it always does on Fridays and Saturdays. It did improve during the week though, and I got a few Amazon sales again!
