HubPages cut?

   I just got to thinking, and I don't mind, but I was doing some math and wondering - what percent does HubPages get of our ads (AdSense)? I mean, I know they get 40%, but 40% of what? Our overall visits/earnings? Or 40% per hub?
   
   The reason I'm wondering is I got to thinking this: say you have 10 hubs published and they each get 2 ad clicks per day (just to make the math easy). Of course some CPM's are going to be higher than others ... does HubPages get a 40% cut of our overall ad clicks (so, they'd get 8 clicks) to those Hubs, meaning the ad revenue can randomize (sometimes a click may be 10cents, another time $1)? Or do they get 40% of the earnings of each individual Hub (divided evenly)? Does anyone know?

   @ Janetta - don't worry, it'll get better. But, that's what I'm trying to figure out. Are they receiving 40% of that .02 (which they technically couldn't be if it's showing up in your account) or 40% of the pageviews/CTR?
   
   @ shreekrishna - are you under the impression that you aren't sharing your earnings? because you are sharing (or will be).

      i have written what i see on adsense.
      
      if they himself says that ,
      there is 0.0 % share of revenue.
      
      then can you explain me how hubpages share 40% of revenue.
      
      if you don't wan't to explain,
      i don't care.

   They get 40% of the pageviews for their ads. It's actually in the site FAQ that they mention it.
   
   They do not get 40% of the clicks.
   
   They do not get 40% of your revenue.

      OH!! Yeah, I knew I saw it somewhere, couldn't remember where. So they're not even guaranteed a click then. Sucks for them.

         No body is guaranteed a click.
         
         It's a numbers game. And if those numbers is quality traffic, then your chances of a click thru increase.
         
         But shreekrishna is correct (for once), they don't have a share in your Adsense. The ad views are split before a person even gets to click on an ad.

   @ shreekrishan - sorry, didn't mean to offend you. I didn't even click through to your profile to be honest to notice if you had AdSense, sorry about that. Probably should have.
   
   Good to see you trying to increase your english skills, you're doing pretty good. Wish there was a site where I could do that with Spanish!
   
   In that case (no Google ads), you're not sharing anything. 
   
   @ darkside - yea, I know no one is guaranteed a click. I was under a different impression about the 40%, that's all. Thanks for clearing it up for me.

   Google Adsense revenue sharing is actually a really awesome thing. While it may seem fairly complicated 40% of the impressions tends to work out good for all involved. While traffic doesn't always mean clicks, the more traffic you have the more clicks you will get. For Hubpages they have lots of hubs and seem to be doing well financially.
   
   It should be noted that most revenue sharing sites only share 50% of the Adsense impressions with their authors. Additionally many run other revenue making ads on your articles and don't share that revenue. For example Xomba shares 50% of the Adsense with its writers, but also runs Kontera ads. Xomba keeps all the Kontera revenue. Hubpages really does have a lot to offer it's writers and is very fair with sharing the revenue.

   @ Everyday Miracles - if it's not commercial content you publish, you can remove AdSense. When editing your Hubs it's in the top Settings section under Ads. There's the drop down box and the ticks. I prefer to keep it on because a click is a click to me. It's free money if nothing else!

    @ aidenofthetower - 40% share doesn't bother me I just didn't understand how it works. I love all the tools and the layout options HubPages provides us with.

    @ EM - there's a few of them. Check out the Summary Text and Groups tabs - they're customizable too!
