Is finding a good niche so difficult?

   I have been trying to find a niche for almost a month now. Everyday I spend 5-6 hours looking at various keywords, competition etc. I need 20-25 keywords to start my niche website but am unable to get more than 10-12 keywords for any particular topic. I really need my website to succeed. By succeed I mean 12 months from now my website should be at least making $200/month. I would appreciate any suggestion about methods to find a good niche for my website.

      This is a good topic as I think many writers struggle with determining what niche they would be best at concentrating their efforts.  One suggestion is think about topics you hear in the news that you can relate to and have an interest.  Having an interest in a topic or niche is the key. 
      
      I am not sure how many hubs you have written here on hubpages but I would look at the topics of your hubs and look at the niche they may fall within.  In analyzing your topics look at the keywords in them to help you determine what key words will benefit you on your website.

   I really do think it's a bit of the cart before the horse.  If you have no interest in the topic, every day you spend on it will be draining.  It will become just another lousy job.
   
   If you love the topic, you'll WANT to put in the time and energy.
   
   Try it the other way around.  Spend a day if you have to really brainstorming about the things you love...
   
   ...THEN see about the keywords, competition, etc.

   Finding a good niche is extremely difficult. You might spend months searching various ideas and come up with nothing. And even if you do find that tiny golden nugget, competition is so intense anymore that others will take it from you. I don't think there is such a thing as a niche anymore. Competition is now global with everybody clamoring for a piece of the action. The only solution I've found is to simply be the best at whatever you do. The niche will come and go but a learned skill, coupled with solid marketing, will keep you very busy.

   The other issue with finding a niche that you enjoy to write about that will make you money nowadays is it seems like just about everything is already covered on the Internet.  The trick is to find a way to make money better once you find the right topic... Hopefully, you can find your way.

   I think your spending too much time trying to find the perfect niche. Don't make a big site about one niche, Make many small sites on narrow niches.
   
   I could make a new site every day on a different niche forever if I had the time. There is no perfect niche, they all have competition.
   
   Stop wasting time and just grab one that seems good and go with it, then do another and another. Your not going to make much by just thinking about it.

   My friend just joined the keyword academy and they said that the training is suppose to help them make $1,000 dollars from niche websites.
