    Hey guys.
Well, i didn't think you could until I read an aritcle on here about linking pieces of text in a hub to the affiliate links of Clickbank products, etc.
I thought I'd ask, because I do a little affiliate marketing myself, but do not want to break the rules and p*** others off!
I simply love writing here anyway and don't really make much money as of yet, which doesn't bother me. Biut if I can post affiliate links, I won't miss out on the opportunity!
    Any comments kindly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Bethan Rose

I am kind of new at the entire affiliate marketing  thing, but your best option is to create a landing page such as a blog by blogger or word press or even a website to direct potential customers to after that they can go to the products website and purchase the product. Place a link in your hub to your landing page

You can't link to landing pages either.  I had a Hub unpublished because I included a link to a landing page for an ebook.

Some affiliate links are regarded as prohibited links:

            http://hubpages.com/faq/#prohibited+links

You would probably be OK if you link to a page which is part of a larger blog, and has other relevant information on it.  Affiliate landing pages are often standalone and blatant sales pitches, and they're definitely not allowed.

Clickbank isn't allowed because although it has some good offers on there, there is also a huge amount of rubbish.  Reputable affiliate companies like ShareASale charge merchants a hefty set-up fee which keeps away the cowboys, and that's why HubPages allows links to them.

Thanks very much for the link! I work with Clickbank so maybe I should give ShareASale a go... I've never heard of them!

Depends on the company you are affiliating with.  Some are not allowed, others aren't.  If you try to use an affiliate that isn't allowed, HP will tell you and not let you publish the post until you've removed them.

Read up on the HP guidelines for details.

Oops, I meant some *are* and some *aren't* allowed, of course!  :-)

Clickbank is one of the ones not allowed, I guess.  I used a URL mask from my website to hide the affiliate link (not from Hubpages, from the users, because it looks cleaner) and they informed me today that I can't do that either.

Not to clickbank.  But most direct referral programs(e.g. direct to retailer) are okay so long as there are no more than two links to it.

Yes, that's what I found too.  I also have links to ShareaSale and Affiliate Future products which haven't been penalized.

Clickbank was specifically mentioned as prohibited.
