I have some hubs that might actually be useful if I could change a few things about them, and tweak the keywords.
The titles would change, though, and the url's would no longer make sense.
Can they be changed?
If you unpublish and republish... otherwise no.
You cannot change the URL of your hub, you can only change the title of your hubs and edit them. If you need to have a different URL you need to copy paste the contents of your hub into another with the right URL, delete the older one and have it deindexed by Google before you resubmit for publication .
May not really be worth the effort. I have changed the title of many hubs and tweak them, and it has helped me. As long as your URL contains the keywords it should work well imho.
It's actually the keywords that are the issue. The basic theme and most of the writing are fine, but the keywords and URL need to change.
I'll make sure everything else is lined up before messing with it.
Hey Greg, if you want to change the URL and Keywords, which you have associated with the content in a specific hub, then you are forced to create a new URL and add new keywords. At that point, you can then switch the content of the hub over to the new hub, once you have unpublished the hub and wait until it is de-indexed.
There is a removal tool to make it quicker work, but I am not familiar with where to locate the tool. I am sure someone else could provide a link to get the tool and hopefully one of them will be along shortly.
If not, you could probably Google it- Google Removal Tool and find it quicker.
Ahh... ok, so "removal" isn't removal from HP, but Google de-indexing.
Is there a set time to wait?
No, it just depends when Google gets around to it.
However, I wouldn't worry too much about the URL. If you've got your keywords right in your title, summary and headings, that should be enough. Very few people will be typing in your URL to find your Hub so few people will notice it's irrelevant.
I don't really expect anyone to be typing them in, but I thought it might be better now that I have relevant keywords and the old ones no longer apply to get the ones that do apply into the url.... and to go in and do some editing, anchor text work, etc wile I'm at it.
I understand that, but it's a lot more work to delete the whole Hub and start again. I had a similar situation when I started HubPages and most of the more experienced Hubbers told me I was being too anal about it - just forget the URL and move on!
So I'm just passing on their advice!
That was my guess.
Bummer... means unpublishing almost everything.
I think this really is already clear, but... just in case....
This is more than just "unpublishing" the hub. It is essentially starting all over again in a new Hub. If changing the URL is that important to you, that's the only way to do it - to put everything (content, photos, videos, etc.) into a new Hub and delete the old one. (And give it time to be de-indexed before you publish the new Hub.)
sofs is right that title tweaking can do a great deal, even with a wonky URL. You can see plenty of odd combinations (title and URL) around, if you pay attention.
Sorry that I'm not the Removal Tool expert.

After changing the title of the hub, the URL remains the same. Does it affect the existing traffic or the position on Google ? How often the title could be changed ? Is it advisable or not ?

When I first started writing at HubPages I was under the impression that one should make the url and the first title of their hub the same.So my question now is: When trying to write the url for maximum traffic, how much should you really deviate on the main title? Or does it even matter if the key...

Would it be important to have the hub title and hub URL have slightly different words to rank better in search engines? For example, if the word "vehicles" is used in title and the word "cars" is used in URL.Are our hubs mainly found because of the title or URL? Obviously having...

SEO experts....How important is it that URL matches title keywords?I titled a hub, partially typed and saved it. Then I decided a different title would be more appropriate and changed it. I just realized the URL (in the address bar in the search engine) keeps the original title. So my URL does not...

I know that once you publish a hub you shouldn't change the title because it affects . . . well I don't fully understand it, but I know it's not a good idea, especially established hubs. However, if I did change a title shortly after it was published, would that still not be good for some reason?...
