Two sort of newbie questions

   Whew. After four years, the mods FINALLY took the moderation thing off my account. Years ago I built a bunch of educational articles and linked to my own educational website to source my Greek art photos and prove I hadn't ripped them off.  I came back and found all the articles had gotten taken down, after 10K visitors and a lot of comments over the years. I was so discouraged I abandoned HP for years.
   
   Finally I came back, while investigating the impact of Panda on various websites. I still like the clean interface of HP better for creating professional-looking articles, even if the moderation is intimidating. Then I found I couldn't write any NEW articles without having to re-submit for clearance, which is an absolute killer when you're a nitpicker who's constantly editing/tweaking prose.
   
   At any rate. I have a few questions.
   
   I am not on Hubpages for fame and glory; all I'd like is to have Hubscore up enough that my pages get crawled by search engines. (I'd say "up enough that my links are DoFollow," but at this point, as far as I can tell, I don't dare link to anything I've ever written.)
   
   My Hubscore seems to go up just from writing. Will it drop back down if I'm not active? I confess I'm not Hub hopping much, and I'm not participating much in the community. I fully understand that one can and should more out of a site if one participates actively in the community, but my time is spread thin. If I (a) don't participate much in the community and (b) disappear for chunks of time, will my score keep dropping, or will good content be enough to keep it afloat?
   
   Similarly, I'm concerned, having seen someone say that Hubscore drops if you don't read articles by the people you've followed. To date I've followed very few, because I'm only following people whose stuff I genuinely want to read, not to get followers. However, (c) If I don't keep up with them because I'm away, does that kill my score? and (d) Is there some part of the dashboard that lets us see updates from people we've followed? Or are we stuck wading through the 500+ emails some of us web oldtimers receive every day? I have so many email notifications from various websites that I've had to filter them out to find personal email.
   
   And finally (e), if Hubscore drops below a certain level, is the problem simply that one's links become NoFollow? Or are pages actually hidden from search engines (NoIndex)? I can live with the former, as I am now paranoid about linking to anything I've written however useful it might be, but having hubs invisible to search would make them useless.

         Nope, if you have enough good quality hub your scores stay up.. writing fresh content and getting good G traffic is sufficient in itself to keep your scores high...but you just need 75 to be do follow.. that is easy.. I guess you don't have to worry too much on that count..anyways profile scores and earning are in no way connected.

         What is the "this" that you mean? - Why is the Edit button not showing up below your post? (I have read that a few people said it has been removed; but on the posts I made just a few minutes ago, it was right there where it has always been.  Maybe it was removed earlier, but is now restored?) - Welcome back!

            There is a way to edit your post. I've done it a number of times - click under "more" below your post and edit is there. There is no edit function when you reply directly to someone, as I am now and a person replying can't see the edit button on someone's post, of course, so they can't mess with someone else's post. But it's there for the original post.
            
            Never mind, I correct myself -- when you reply to someone's post directly, as I did/am, there IS an edit button.

               Hmmm. I'm still learning the controls; I missed the fact that there was "Edit" under the more button.
               
               Also, I've now bumbled my way into the "Activity" tab and found my bookmarks/followed stuff, so disregard that question. How strange being a newbie again.
               
               A relief to know that good content is sufficient, although I feel a bit of a bum for asking the question. Who knows, I may get sucked in; HP has a good community.
               
               Anyway, thank you very much!
