So I just posted a new hub, and I'm not really sure how I did. I'm new to hubpages and I'm not really sure if I'm doing it right or not.
Constructive criticism is welcome!

I'm no pro hub writer(In fact i just joined about 10min ago)but I think it's really good!
Welcome to Hub Pages!
I read both of your hubs and thought they were very well written, very few grammar errors or typos. If you haven't already looked around the Learning Center, I suggest you do so. You can find the link at the top of this page. Your content was good and you certainly seem to know what you are talking about.
Hub Pages likes longer hubs rather than shorter ones - at least 400 words (yours looked fine) HP also likes it when authors use their own photos - not always possible, of course, depending on your subject.
Other elements that add to your hubs are polls (ask people if they've ever trained a dog or what kind they have, etc) and videos - yours or something you find on YouTube.
Be active in the community. You said you looked around and read/commented on a few other hubs and that's good. You could also ask or answer questions or join one of the topic communities. You can find links to both at the top of this page
Other than that, it just takes time. And don't worry too much about your author score. It will fluctuate a lot.
Distribute eggs in many baskets. Promote yourself in every venue. That means the grocery store . lol. Nice to read you.
Am I wasting my time, or do I have something here? How long does it take to get follower?
This is your second post on here. You have to interact more if you want people to visit your hubs. Comment on others hubs and take part in discussions in the forum.
Thanks for the advice, I am new to this and learning the ropes of how it is done.

I just updated my HubPages profile a couple days ago and in my profile linked to some of my favorite hub topics that I wrote about. Is this bad to do this since on the profile page we have those same hubs randomly come up below? I just don't want overkill but like the thought that I've got my...

I'd like to suggest we get rid of Hubber Score - and perhaps even Hub Scores. They:- are constantly misunderstood;- cause a lot of upset and grief in the forums; and- encourage newbie Hubbers to direct their efforts in entirely wrong directionsFor instance, I've known newbie Hubbers stop...
