Catholics and Marriage

   I have not been a practicing Catholic for a number of years because of personal convictions. Over the years, I believe many views have changed.
   
   If you are a practicing Catholic, how does your beliefs affect your outlook on marriage?
   
   The bible and your vows state "til death do us part". Here are a few questions:
   
   Because you are Catholic, will you do whatever it takes to stay in the marriage and make it successful?
   
   Will you forgive your spouse of anything,i.e., adultery, substance abuse, etc., because the Bible says you should?
   
   Will you remain unhappy because you are Catholic and took a vow; Will you sacrifice your happiness because of your dedication to your faith?
   
   Will you pray on it and hope it sees you through?
   
   Which is more important; your faith or your happiness?

      Jesus said that divorce is only allowed in the case of infidelity.
      
      Personally, I would say, if things can't be fixed, one must think about their own happiness and make a choice. One can choose to live in an unhappy state for the sake of the marriage or one can choose to be happy.

      You ask questions that any two people looking to get married regardless of faith must answer, not just Catholics. therefore your opening statement and your questions are moot.

   If True Love is unconditional then both are important.  Obviously if there are adultery problems within the Marriage and it's ongoing...then a Divorce is necessary.

   Isnt it just as easy to get the marriage "dismissed" by the catholic faith? As if it never happened at all?

      It isn't  a question of not being easy..it is not allowed would be the  right answer.
      This question is for the Christians,..not just Catholics in particular because of its scope.
      If you go by the word of God and choose a God fearing person...I guess the question itself will not arise...
      Eph 5:21-29 explains the conduct of men and women in a marriage covenant.
      The problem is because we do not know the Word and adhere tom the Word .

   The Romanist religion is a false-teaching one to begin with. Pagan in origin and practice, it adds to and removes from the Bible God gave us.

      Love your neighbor .....This does say  a lot about a person whose faith is based on the Word.
      The body of Christ does boast ...! cor 13... maybe a brush up is needed...

   Sofs --- I have nothing against the PEOPLE who are members of it. I have it against the religion's false teachings, such as praying to Mary, who is dead, and incapable, as well as unqualified to receive or act on prayer..... purgatory, a romanist invention implying that our Lord Jesus 'left some things unfinished' before He died on the cross... wearing scapulars to ward off evil, praying before and TO statuary... buying and selling 'indulgences', etc.....
   Being a Christian involves much more than simply ignoring false teaching cults and 'accepting them' equally. THIS Christian puts CHRIST FIRST.
