WOW! HP forums have definitely hit a new record lately. Even some of the believers are complaining about it.

Looks like the outright,  self-admitted, street ministers have finally arrived to join the party.

HP slowly sinks under a sea of bibles...

Here, maybe a few verses from the Quran would help...

Qur'an:9:5 "Fight and kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, take them captive, harass them, lie in wait and ambush them using every stratagem of war."

Qur'an:8:39 "Fight them until all opposition ends and all submit to Allah."

Qur'an:9:123 "Fight the unbelievers around you, and let them find harshness in you."

One of my many New Year's resolutions is to avoid the religion forums.

      Until then however... big_smile big_smile big_smile

If it was their mission to convert you would think they would find a place where there was even a microscopic chance of that actually occurring... which leads me to believe that they are

    1.  Masochistic

    -or-

    2. Determined to be as annoying as possible

    -or-

    3. They are atheists in disguise hoping to make even believers throw their hands up and say "bugger religion for a game of soldiers"

Or they like the sound of their own voice. Figuratively speaking of course.

I think, just my opinion, that they are really quite unsure and need validation. If they convert (however unlikely) they have found some validation of their beliefs. Note, there are lots of people (I'm also thinking of you here, Melissa) who do not seek validation for your beliefs. You're confident about them, happy with the skin you're in. smile Also, leads to better relationships with athesists etc.

I seriously am going to play every sandpit game and reply to every non-religious post in an effort to bury the religious threads.  At least make them go searching and clear the front page of the crap.

I just joined hp and was wondering if it was really this religous. I'm fortunate to happen upon this thread and stick around.

Warning! big_smile I do believe we now have sock-puppet issues going on big-time here. Respond to them accordingly.

    Just a note:

    I am neutral religion.

    I am against rampant proselytizing.

May peace eventually reign here once again...big_smile

It's a topic nearly everyone has an opinion about--whether they believe one way or another--people are passionate about beliefs and non-beliefs!  I don't believe people should prod and force their views on others, yet on the other hand there are quite a few people out there who are bringing up the topics via way of Hubs, forums, and questions to which responses are therefore given (some responses more respectful than others--for both the "believers" and the "non-believers"). It is a hot topic though--no getting away from that. I just wish it could be a healthy exchange of ideas rather than people attacking and criticizing one another.  Sometimes this happens--many times it does not.  One of my favorite hubbers to read has opposite beliefs than my own but I learn from him and enjoy the discussion.
