   Hi maddie i am getting some serious sh*t on that hub, i have had to  change the comments box to approve comments before they are shown, but this doesn't seem to have stopped them.....jimmy

   don't mistake the names for the name of a personal hubber or commenter.  those are usually who owns the ISP server although sometimes it's the names of the individual.
   
   it's not a proxy, though and it does seem to be coming from the catholic education office directly. 
   
   that's about strange.

   Parramatta, Australia... that's about 3 hours from where I am.
   
   I wondered if it was the same person/s who keep hitting one of my hubs every few days. The three most recent attempts were from 202.156.164.44, 202.156.159.77 and 202.156.155.158

      first one is starhub cable broadband out of singapore.  I don't know enough about this one to know if it's a proxy.
      
      second is the same, just a different connection, like a dif number same server, like having 4 numbers for one city on aol, like that.  same person my guess
      
      last is same person too.  same server, just a dif individual line hook up again.
      
      
      it's possible that it's someone totally from somewhere else, but using a singapore free proxy from one of the free proxy sites.  it's not static, so no way to know.  whoever it is uses it consistently, though, so more likely that is their actual server.

      I don't think that's it at all.  Jimmy is a good guy, and a good Hubber.  I mean, with 600 hubs I really can't imagine him needing to use a sluggish ploy like that to get hits.  Give the man some credit.

    Now that you have identified where the comments are coming from you may also want to email the Internet Service Provider where the attacks are coming from and request that they investigate and take action. Most ISPs have a zero tolerance for bad behaviour and will block the guy from logging onto the net using their ISP.
    
    The ones coming from the Catholic organization probably involve someone using a pooled IP address, such as from an office or public access terminal in a library. The organization likely does not want to be associated with bad behaviour so they will probably take your complaint seriously.
    
    You should also email hubpages and ask that they block these IP addresses, but since they are coming from different sources chances are that your "friend" is using a proxy of some sort and if they are blocked at this end, they will simply switch IP address. I think going after them at the source may be your best bet.

    We blocked that IP address.  We've got some more automated ip based "speed limits" in the works, that should help prevent this sort of abuse.

    No worries rogue, just felt it needed to be said.  Even jokingly making those kinds of statements about another person can possibly breed issues.  Lord knows we've got enough of them around here, my fault.
