BREAKING: Judge revokes George Zimmerman's bond because Zimmerman misrepresented his financial status to court

In addition to not being truthful about his financial status, Zimmerman also didn't turn in a passport. He'll be heading back to jail.
    **********

If ya lie about one thing....you can't be trusted on another.

    No self-defense. First degree murder.

His bond was revoked because he did not reveal the amount of money is his defense fund which was way less than the $200,000 it is now. If it was set up properly, then he did not lie because it would not be personal property. If he set it up in is own name, then he lied because it would be personal property. The passport is a suspicion, they are not sure he has a second one. We will know in a few days at the next hearing.

I remember hearing about this a few weeks ago on the CBC and his lawyer was not happy about it at all and felt he had been lied to. Seems he would know if it was lying or not.

You realize that lying about money is really not even close to committing murder... right?  Nor does lying about one thing mean you are lying about everything else you've ever said in your life.

I agree, but it does make you wonder if he has lied about anything else. Trayvon Martin's actions in the past can be used against his character and to almost justify what happened but no one can accuse Zimmerman of lying?

I agree with that, Mel, but Zimmermann does seem kinda "shady." Of course, that doesn't mean he's guilty of murder 1.

    From the Christian Science Monitor

During the hearing, prosecutors introduced several recordings of telephone conversations between Zimmerman and his wife, Shellie, made while he was in jail.  In one such recording, they can be heard speaking cryptically about a second passport in his possession. Zimmerman was ordered by the judge to hand over his passport so he couldn’t flee the country, but Zimmerman applied for a second passport after the shooting, saying his first one had been stolen.

In other recordings Zimmerman’s wife, who testified at his bond hearing, called him from a credit union where she had an account linked to the “Real George Zimmerman” Pay Pal account, which at the time had about $130,000 in it. Prosecutors contend that she was “intimately involved in the deposit and transfer of funds and money into various accounts.”

      Yup....going to skip town.

Not that I blame him..the prospect of prison is the worst nightmare possible......except for the nightmare of being shot to death for nothing.

Do the crime, do the time.
