Please take the time to use the "search" option. It is overwhelming to keep answering the same questions here in the forums that have already been answered appropriately by some excellent members.
I think it's important to remember that newbies often don't know what to search for, so we do have to be a bit patient with them.
I've joined several sites and had great difficulty finding the information I'm looking for, simply because I didn't know the right jargon for that particular site. It's very difficult to get relevant search results if you're using the wrong search terms! For that reason, I always try to be patient with newbies.
However I do get impatient with newbies who ask one or two questions, get helpful advice, then keep on coming back to ask more and more questions. I'm happy to give people a kick-start, but not to spoon feed them.
The same people who don't read the forums and make redundant posts aren't going to read this. Not to mention they're over in the Q&A re-posting their forum questions there too.
Redundant posts? Probably about half whats in the forum...
I don't mind answering the same questions. I realize the frustration that can result from being motivated to do something, but not sure how to do it.
I think we should make a 'standard reply', save it to our desktop then copy n paste into the appropriate forum as repeat questions arise?
I hate questions, and will only answer them if the question is interesting. Very few of those. When I first started HubPages, there were two Hubbers that constantly asked questions, and they both drove me crazy. I knew they were bucking for accolades because they weren't very selective about what they were asking, but each day, they were on my feed. Then you have the ones that ask about 1) how much money they can make here 2) when will they get paid. These people aren't going to last on HubPages. Redundant questions should be automatically deleted or labeled, "Duplicate. Try again."
I get harped on by some people for constantly referring people to the FAQ and Learning Center, but if we encourage a culture of people using the resources provided to educate themselves, it cuts down on the repetitive crap.
It's not that hard to goto the help section and ctrl+F. Or maybe that's just too much work for some people. How dare you make them work more Relache? Just let them pick the money off the moneytrees already.
They would have to burn calories and actually "sort" things out using brain cells! The horrors! Eureka! Haha. I am kidding. Shoot, I know I did a few similar posts when I started here, but once I learned where to find the information, that is where I now go. There is an abundance of "published" information here that almost covers every area. New areas pop up from time to time but usually it does not take long for it to be addressed.
When I started I started a forum thread asking people's CTR. *Shakes Head* We all do SOME dumb newbie things.
My personal fav for others asking..... 'Can you tell me how much money you make with x amount of hubs and how long do I need to do this before I become rich. Actually bugger the work, will you pay me for training?'
I was just thinking, 'I like the way relache does it, with the link to the learning center'. Then here you are. Great minds....
It's not only the redundant posts, but the redundant replies. Why does a thread asking a specific question which was adequately answered need more replies of the exact same post.

New Hubbers. HubPages is not a place you are going to make a lot of money overnight. Hell for the most part most people on HubPages will never make much money. It is important to read all of the TOS and to read other peoples Hubs. There are several people here on HubPages with such...
