         It sounds like the Ralph actully read the article. It said the Obama's investments are in 2 U.S.-based investment firms. Romney, on the other hand, out right owns companies that are based in Bermuda in order to avoid Anerican taxes.
         
         The difference in some instanices is Romney 0 taxes, Obama 15%.. Also, it's been pointed out that for IRS purposes, Romney still reported being a trustee at Bain Capital to the IRS in 2010 to avoid a 35% tax rate on Bain's U.S. holdings, but told voters he's not working there at all. (this is for real for an audit)

   Having money in an Illinois pension fund that includes global investment fund choices, or even owning stocks in companies that have overseas operations or mutual funds that include global holdings is NOTeven remotely the same as sheltering money in offshore accounts.
   
   What's next?
   
   The Obamas used Beau as a tax deduction?
   They only tithed 8.5% to their church where the Romneys tithed 10%?
   
   Seriously, I'm shocked we haven't gotten down to comparing what foods each candidate likes and doesn't like?

                           That's the analogy.
                           It's like childbirth.
                           The pain is excruciating. But you know it can't last forever. One way or the other it will be over soon, and whatever the outcome, you'll feel relieved.
                           You promise yourself "I will NEVER do that again!"
                           But before you know it, you totally forget how painful it was and you're right back at it.
                           
                           Hopefully next time we'll be both pulling for Hill.

                              I'm not really feeling "pain" this time. I was upset when McCain lost because I've always had so much respect for him. As I feel now, I'm voting for Romney, but I won't think it's a big deal if Obama is re-elected, which is what I expect to happen. I'm not an Obama-hater.
                              
                              Like you, I'm seeing a lot of humor this time. I mean, really - BOTH campaigns are so full of crap sometimes! Not to mention our "wonderful" media. You just have to shake your head and laugh to keep from crying.

                                 Did McCain choose Sarah Palin or did the TP force him to go hard right?
                                 That seems to have been the beginning of this whole extreme movement in the Republican party.
                                 Did Romney choose Ryan or did the same extremists tell him that's who he needed to pick because he's their guy?
                                 They sure seem to be molding Romney's candidacy (and not for the better).
                                 To the outside observer, it's looking a lot more like Ryan/Romney than vice versa.
                                 Hey wait, that's how it looked in 2008 when Sarah Barracuda overshadowed McCain.
                                 Hmmm.
                                 
                                 McCain never bought into the whole TP thing. He is too old, too smart and too dignified to "go there."
                                 
                                 It's none of my business, of course, but... Don't you and other sane Republicans want to reclaim your party from the crazies?

                                    Yes. If Romney loses, I hope people will think it's because of his choosing a far right VP. But that won't happen. They'll say Romney was too moderate, just like they said about McCain.
                                    
                                    And by the way, I don't always vote R. Had the GOP given the nod to one of the "more extreme" candidates this year, I would be voting for Obama. I'm not really a good fit for either party. I'm a Christian, gun-totin', fiscal conservative who believes in states' rights, personal responsibility, EARLY legal abortion, gay marriage, and less military spending. I'm against the death penalty and illegal immigration. See my conundrum? lol

      We've gone completely bonkers here.
      Recognizing the utter futility of fact or logic-based arguments, we've changed course.
      Instead of trying to elevate the discourse, we are going for the lowest common denominator, silliest, most inane and ridiculous accusations we can think of.
      Some of us (ok, maybe just I) have even reached the point where we don't even care which candidate -- our own or the other dude -- we skewer.
      Why bother researching or fact-checking when you can simply take things blatantly out of context? Or even more fun (and I daresay creatively challenging)  -- make up your own allegations?

                  Walmart doesn't really carry them, and not all Mormons wear them, either. It's something worn by the few that are "sealed" in the Temple in Salt Lake City. I grew up in a Mormon community and I knew of only one family that had the undies.
                  
                  Mormons, by and large, are very good people, albeit some strange (from my perspective) beliefs. The one thing Romney has in his favor, is that Mormons are very loyal, so Romney (if he holds true to his belief system) would put the welfare of the US ahead of the welfare of other nations. And that is, after all, why we elect a President.
                  
                  That said - I'm not voting in this election because I don't see a lot of difference between Obama (who I view as an abject failure) and Romney, I'm tired of voting for the lesser of two evils. In the greatest nation in the world (subjectively speaking) it's a shame that we're reduced to choosing between two leaders of such low quality.
                  
                  There isn't a lick of difference in principal, between Obama's and Romney's offshore investments. The dollar amount might vary, but both men are diverting money that *could* be invested in American assets to further American jobs.
                  
                  The democrats are going to have a tough time leveling these kinds of attacks at Romney, because their candidate is guilty of the same thing.
                  
                  The biggest difference, in my opinion, between the two camps, is that the Obama camp is still operating on cult-mentality. Obama did not fulfill numerous campaign promises the first time around - he's not going to do it this time either. He pushed a health bill that lines the pockets of the insurance industry and big pharma and will leave millions of people without healthcare. Romney has a similar plan in MA.
                  
                  If I had to choose one man, and I'm glad I don't, it would be Romney - because Obama's already failed and I suppose that means we should give Romney a chance to fail as well. But, I'm disillusioned by the lack of quality candidates so...Mormon underwear doesn't even enter the picture.
                  
                  One of the last things I judge a candidate on are his religious views, UNLESS he has a track record of voting ONLY to support those views.

   Here are some facts about ACA. These are not my opinion. These come directly from a regional report about to be published by a consortium of nonprofit foundations whose sole existence is to improve the health and well-being of citizens. They are nonpartisan, btw.
   
   * At the national level, health reform is expected to insure 32 million currently uninsured individuals through health benefits exchanges and expanded eligibility for Medicaid. 
   * According to the Congressional Budget Office, the law will increase coverage to about 94 percent of Americans, while slowing the rate of growth in federal health expenditures by $124 billion over the next decade.
   
   * ACA also includes provisions to eliminate disparities in health care, strengthen public health care access, invest in the expansion and improvement of the health care workforce, and encourage consumer and patient wellness in both the community and the workplace.
   
   * Through federal programs and grants to states, the health reform law will help expand the nation’s health workforce, from physicians and nurses to public health professionals, through scholarships and local repayment assistance.
   * The law also aims to improve the diversity of the healthcare workforce in order to assure care that is appropriate for the entire population.
