At the top of our profile page under our profile name, there is a line that indicates how long we've been with HP and where we came from plus the time we were last seen on HP.
Example: "Last seen 7 minutes ago".....
Is there any valuable use for this time indicator? Do you find it of any use? I personally don't see any purpose for this but for stalkers to track you. Lol! With the constant changes going-on with HP, I feel, they should remove it. What is your thought about it?
I personally don't think that how active an author is is anyone's business. When I first joined HP, I was "lured" into believing that I could publish here and the site would provide passive income.
Now the brainwashing is that an author has to be active on the site for a better score, on a regular basis, plus update unupdatable material in order to keep the material from becoming idle.
Go figure....
Once again I will say the changes are for one reason and that is at the bottom right of your page, Ning Glam Social.... This is becoming a "social" site...you know...like Facebook, or wants to be a social site. So knowing your every move, the invasion of privacy, follows along the "social site" guidelines.
Especially You P!We all have heard about your nefarious activity in the gerbil community...
easier? oh, does that mean law enforcement is stalking a stalker?
I am not sure about it yet. It probably has good and bad things about it.
I think it's a way to get people to check in with HP more often. Not just post hubs and leave them for months gathering dust. But to actually participate in the HP community.
My two cents.

I think it is a good idea that HP shows last seen 7 hrs ago, this shows how active hubber he or she is.
In some profile we have seen last seen 2 months.... it helps other hubber to think that one should follow him or not..
I sort of liked the addition of time in the profile; it gives me a feeling like I am talking to real people. Otherwise hubpages can at times feel like you are writing an email into the vast ocean of the internet.
I don't really care one way or another if they post "last seen" (although, I suppose, I'd prefer it not be there). My "thing" is, though, that it doesn't strike me as accurate to put "last seen" when what was "last seen" was that someone followed someone (not just when the Hubber actually did something on here). I've had times when I haven't done anything on here for weeks, but there'll be "last seen seven minutes ago" because someone decided to follow. To me, that doesn't show that I was "last seen". It shows that - if nothing else - it was recorded that at least one person "saw" me. That, of course, leads me to think, "Well, if we're noting when at least one person "saw" me why can't we note anyone/everyone else who "saw" me. Instead, it just shows if someone followed me - so why not say, "Last followed" if something has to be said at all? So a) it's not accurate that I was "seen" seven minutes ago, but b) it's not accurate either that the only set of eyes that "saw" me enough (in maybe weeks) to leave evidence of it was the one person who chose to follow seven minutes ago. So, in the meantime, if anyone were interested enough to go to the profile to see if, maybe, I might be hanging around on the site somewhere they'll be led to think I'm around (because I was "seen" seven minutes ago) when - really - maybe I haven't been around for a few weeks).
So, again, my "thing" is accuracy - either have a "last _____" or not, but make it accurate if it's going to be there. (There's always changing "last seen" to something like "last account activity", which would then make the stalkers, encouragers of stalkers; and sticklers for accuracy, like me, happy.)
Fascinating information. I had not paid any attention to these notations about our activity. Lisa makes an important contribution mentioning that it shows when "another" person has followed or visited a Hubpage member's page. Therefore, the inaccurate time date of a member's activity shows up on the profile.
More importantly, even if HP has intentionally added this information, how can the HP member utilize this to the best advantage?
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

On my profile page, right under my name on the line that says when I joined and from where, there is another statistic that is usually wrong, and it has been that way since I first noticed it months ago. For example, mine currently says, "Last seen 5 days ago." In fact, I've been on Hub...

I recently created my first ever website. Was just a bit of fun to see what exactly is involved and to see if I can pull in any traffic. It took about a week for the site to get indexed. As of yet though not of the pages on my site seem to be indexed by Google. I have the...

It appears that there has been a recent change on my profile page. Underneath the number of published hubs, there is a number of featured hubs. I do not want this to be shown. My ratio of featured hubs is less than 50% of the number of published hubs. My understanding of why...
