Thanks! This is information I ought to know but don't have the time/energy to search out myself.
Another place to look is Quantcast's top sites list, which is a measure of actual site traffic.
http://www.quantcast.com/top-sites
Alexa can be more or less accurate because it relies on users with the Alexa toolbar to gather data. So, if Alexa users don't visit certain sites, they'll rank badly, even if the site gets plenty of other traffic.
Quantcast works by embedding a 1x1 pixel image on every page of a participating website. It can then see each time the page is loaded, using the image like the turnstyle at a gate. The limitation of Quantcast is that it has to estimate on sites that do not put the Quantcast graphic on their pages. Luckily, both Hubpages and Squidoo participate, giving us some insights. (If you view quantcast's stats for a particular site, you can then click the compare link to compare it with up to three other domains that you specify.)
Great post! Honestly, that doesn't seem too bad to me. But I'm not well-versed enough at Hubpages to really understand how different 1 and 4 will be in terms of traffic. I do think it's a bit odd to put a site like textbroker on there, as the setup is totally different. No one who is trying to find out about a topic hits textbroker. It's a different market.

Just curious if anyone is using article directories like ezine, xomba and buzzle to drive traffic to your hubs. From what I understand about pageranks, if I write an article for ezine, even though ezine has a high pagerank, my article on ezine will have it's own pagerank...which will be low...

There are many websites that allow you to post an article which can be reprinted by others and meanwhile your link will be included. So as a result, more backlinks are created for you. Isn’t right? Dose the hubpages allow hubbers to submit hub in some article submission site, e.g....

Should I use article Directories To Create backlinks? Using a "rewritten" article at a max of 25% duplication. This way I would have a strong article (with 75% original content) that due to only 25% would be duplicated, should help ensure the article directory does not outrank my primary...

I have been writing articles for several years. They are submitted to about 200+ article directories. If I use one of these articles for a Hub is it considered duplicate content? The articlesw are cre34ated by myself.
