   I am new hub pages and have posted my first hub, I am looking for feedback on things I can improve on and tips about posting hubs.

      Welcome to Hubpages. I think you wrote a great first hub. Very informative and well done. Your original and great photograph of your horse gives you an added edge I think.  I am not knowledgeable enough  about different horse breeds and whether they naturally would have enough of a coat to stand really cold weather. I do know that some can develop really thick coats for winter, but not sure about the different breeds. I think you did a great job.

      I was looking at the Gypsy Vanner horse hub. Good, but some minor nitpicks
      
      * There's a place or two where you used "there" instead of "their"
      * There's a bit of inconsistency where you sometimes capitalize Gypsy, sometimes Vanner, and sometimes, both.
      * Your intro seem to be written for all Gypsy horses, not merely Gypsy Vanners.
      * Horse breeders may know how high a "hand" is, for us regular folks you need to put that in feet or meters.
      * You need to describe this breed in a bit more detail. It almost seems there's more pictures than verbiage.

            I liked the article, and whilst I knew a 'hand' was four inches even as a non-horse breeder (I used to ride horses, and owned one back in the 80's) I agree with kschang about the use of 'their' versus 'there'. In your first section every time you have used the word 'there' it should have been 'their', e.g. "there flowing manes and feathered legs the Gypsy Vanner mesmerizes all whom come into there presence." and in order not to 'turn readers off' I strongly recommend you edit this asap. Without intending to offend, try to remember that 'their' denotes ownership of something, whereas 'there' is used in most other instances.
            
            I actually like your topic choices a great deal, and the info is good, but what you aren't doing is proof reading thoroughly. I just checked out your trail riding hub, and saw many instances of use of the word 'to' instead of 'too' (as in also), and other errors such as 'you' instead of 'your'. I saw other errors too, so I would recommend not rushing to publish hubs until you have spent plenty of time proof reading them first.

         Go to their profile page, one of their hubs or here, and the score will show at the bottom right of their profile picture. Hub score is often called 'author score' too.
