Writers Block

   I want to write a hub so bad but  I am having major writer's block. Anyone have any ideas on how to break through it? Write now I feel like I'll never be able to write again lol

   Hey Abby, not sure if this is a serious question or not, but I’ll take a stab at it in a serious manner.  This is Hubpages, so I’ll give you a good Hubpages answer:  I clicked on your name and …oops, I meant “Hello, Julia.”  Anyway.  You wrote a hub on not being able to sleep.  You should write something on sleeping pills and how they affect society.  Perhaps something about addiction.  This way, you can pull backlinks on your hubs, too:-)

      Thanks for the idea. I was looking and my hubs to get some ideas but it just wasn't coming to me lol. Sleeping pills does sound like it could be a good subject

   Hi Abby. First do some freestyle writing about having wirter's block. Write about how it makes you feel, what your fears are about it, and the consequences of never being able to come up with a good idea ever again. Fill up the entire page. Do this in long-hand, not on your computer. Then make a list of everything you like, for example, your favorite things, things that intrigue you, fascinate you, etc. Add to that a list of things you don't like, things that disgust you, etc. All of this will ignite your creative juices.          Partly from a professor many years ago about freestyle journaling when you're stuck. But mostly from my work as a therapist.

   Well, I guess it counts as writing a new hub. I finally finished one that I was working on. Now I'll have to try out your method janshares

   Just start writing. Write everything and anything that comes to mind. Don't worry about grammar, sentence structure, or if it makes sense,. Keep writing until you have filled at least three pages. Then go back and highlight anything that interests you.

      Im very lucky, Ive never had writers block. Even when I was sure I couldnt possibly have anything left to say... however, that may be because I wasnt trying to write on one particular subject as much as just write... Maybe if you try that... just start writing and see what comes of it.

         I never write about anything because I think it might be popular. I write about things I am interested in and am passionate about. People's will respond to that and share it.

   If you read the forums ,you will find a few Hubbers that pose questions for others to give their opinions on and then take that information to write a new Hub.
