My capsules sometimes save and sometimes - well most of the time do not save.  I click and click.  I refresh the page.  I change browsers.  But still I cannot finish creating a Hub.  This is extremely frustrating. Any thoughts?

All I can do is guess.

How much memory does your computer have?

What is your OS and version?

Come to think of it, here's a checklist. http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/99079

Thanks. I have a new-ish computer with plenty of memory and Widows 7.  I'll check out the link you sent.  I did a complete scan last night with anit-virus and nothing showed up.

I think there's some problem with java in your browser. I'm not sure which browser you are using but if you are using other than firefox, use should use firefox only. If you are using firefox and problem still persist, update your browser to a newer version.

    Regards

Thank you. Firefox was working less well than Chrome and Internet Explorer.  I just updated my version (which wasn't that old).  Maybe I'll update Java, too.  I did seem to have some success from clearing my cookies.

Ugh, it's still doing that weird thing.  When I hit save, the window with the capsule title and text, just moves to the bottom of the screen, but nothing is saved.

How is your internet connection? Is the problem persisting?

The problem is persisting, and my internet is behaving.  I'm currently researching and writing freelance and having no problems with that.  I just cannot create a hub.  I was hoping to create at least 3 or 4 a week, but it took me hours and hours to create the one I did get written.

New Java . . . now it seems to be working.  I'll let you know if it quits.

Thank you so much.  It is still working.  I'm off and running. smile

Whenever buttons hide to bottom due to java, you can also press F11 and still find.

You could do your writing in Word, then copy/paste to HP.  And save frequently while building the hub...
More of a workaround, but maybe it helps a little.

Be aware that you could introduce some weird formatting if you copy text from a formatted editor like Word.  It might help to use a plain text editor like Notepad, TextEdit, or Notepad++.  That way you are only copying and pasting plain text.

Well, it doesn't matter where I type the text, it will not save. When it jumps to the bottom, I can still see it when I scroll down. I have a fairly new computer that gives me no other problems.  Is anyone else having this issue?  Should I be writing for someone else. I was sure hoping to create enough hubs to make a little money.

@metadiscourse With all the issues you are currently experiencing, my guess is that is something wrong with your computer, web browser, or network connection as I have not seen reports of other users having similar problems.
What malware and/or anti-virus software do you use in Windows 7?
I would suggest doing a full scan.
You may also want to check your internet connection as well.

Thank you for your kind help in all of this.  I wonder if it is my connection speed.  I live in the sticks, and DSL is my only option.  Other than that, I have a good computer that is behaving with every other website I try.  I really want to work with HubPages, but I am looking into alternatives in case this persists.  I use Kaperskey as my antivirus, and I have run a full scan.  I will try one more time and see if I have any luck.

Doubt that it is the speed: I've used a DSL line for years with no problem.

You can test the bandwidth pretty easily.  It may not be the speed of DSL that is the issue, but the reliability. Sometimes rural DSL has issues with connection stability (many times related to the physical phone wiring used) and a connection being rest while logged in could result in lost content if it was not yet saved.

Try this; whenever your hub edits seems not to be working, Click save unpublished or done editing button at the top and again click edit to start editing your contents, and it will work this time. It does happen with me from time to time and I do the same to complete my hubs. The editor seems to handle too much load at times and dies before it finishes the race big_smile . So reviving it works !!

Here are a couple of things to try. First, make sure that you are running the latest version of Flash player, if you are, try uninstalling then re installing it. I had a similar problem with my personal blog and this fixed it. Try logging out of hubpages and restarting your computer. When you are using hubpages, try not to have a lot of windows and different web browsers open. If you are running big files like itunes in the background, try closing them while working on hubpages. .Make sure your browser cache is cleared out. Are your cookies on?  And, if you tech savvy, try a different ISP.
But definitely look into the Flash Player update
