Homelessness prevention

   There would not be a need to help homeless people if homelessness is prevented. I have read that one important requirement for a person to be accepted in a shelter or emergency housing is to live out on the streets for more than a year… Who the heck will like to meet this requirement? Is this for real? It is time to target the roots of the problem.
   
   This is not a forum to argue about who uses the system or not.  This is a forum to discuss a problem that affects a great amount of descent people who were once able to give back to society and the community, and are currently almost out the door to be homeless.

      Maybe one of the roots is due to a breakdown of personal identity and the loss of being in touch with one's own will for one reason or another. Usually a reaction to a lack of acceptance, lack of respect, lack of encouragement, appreciation and basic human concern on some level: ether familial or work related.

      Check out youtubes rachel madow in the most popular vids about how republican states are increasing sales ta which is more a tax on the poor and the rise of people breaking up packs of products and buying single items like a bottle of beer from a pack, on cigarette, or a single stack of crackers from a box.

      Given the proportion of the homeless who are mentally ill, a good solution to the homelessness problem is opening another 50,000 or 100,000 psychiatric beds and then forcibly committing many of the afflicted. It does not help them or society to have them wandering the streets. And many of these "suddenly pushed in front of subway car" deaths would be prevented.

         Naw, we should randomnly exterminate mean people, serriously.. I mean with as many of the chinese and Indians wanting to replicate the American culture, there will not be enough food to go around, lets kill off the mean people, starting with me. BTW to the Christians, recall the line from that song "This world is not my home, I'm just passing through".. Nothing wrong with dying, this world sucks.

      I think we have to see what defines "homeless"; people who used to be successful and got sick.  I think many people generalize.

   I read somewhere of one homeowner who let a homeless person (Canada btw ) use his storage shed as shelter. He got fined and the homeless person was out of shelter. The owner was doing what he could out of kindness to a complete stranger and law stopped him and had the homeless person...homeless once again. It is gov't policies ... especially ridiculous ones that shows the gov't is totally out of touch with realities of society and it's various levels. I can only suggest sending helpful tips and ideas to your local and state leaders who may just use it to make/offer change. Just a thought.

      It may have been that the shed is not adequate shelter for a person to live in, but those standards committees need to consider this situation where the wildnerness is not adequate for people to live in, but then again they'd probably argue that our founding fathers survived it, but then you could argue well our founding fathers didn't have acid rain, polution, smog, carbon monoxide poisoning, etc. If we can prove to the government that living inside is better than living outside, maybe they will permit homeless people to live indoors.  If discussing this to liberal officials, discuss the permeability of methane, and discuss the possibility of placing stocks of wood in the shed with the homeless person that might enrich the wood's burning life, especially if wood is configured in the form of a waste collector to permit direct liquid infusion. Then you have to spot them 10,000 dollars and they will push a bill through to require every home-owner to house a homeless person if they own one or more sheds.

         Another idea, if a homeless person is living in a shed, the shed is now their home, therefore they are no longer homeless.. What would qualify the homeless person as no longer being homeless.  And serriously, now, consider what is required of a shed to make it a valid home, what are the regulations?

   I quite understand that the 'shed' isn't enough and yes, didn't pass 'code'  but that a honest man got fined by the police ... as said already, shows that gov't is out of touch with realities of society .  If people could buy some sort of shelter that's acceptable for year round use, I think a lot of people would buy such a 'shelter' and place it in an inconspicuous place in their yard or request gov't to use some parking lot for such shelters available.
