   this is just too creepy... truly turns my stomach
   
   I for one will be boycotting all companies that do/use these "enhancers"

      The claim is untrue, cells cloned from abortions performed in the 1970s are being used, the cells themselves have never been in or near a fetus. Also these cells are not in foods but used in their production.
      Using such products harms no one so long as the product is safe for consumption.

   I read the article and what is says is that the develop the chemical structure of some flavoring using a tool that looks like it may involve these cell lines.
   
   People may wish to avoid that product, but it has nothing to do with that material actually being in the product.

   it boggles my mind and soul that people aren't spiritually connected within themselves and with others to be upset about #1 abortion, #2 ingesting anything that had anything to do with a human being #3 ingesting anything that had to do with cloning of anything be it human or animal...  but that's just me

      Abortion bothers me (and I imagine the vast majority of people) that does not mean something acquired from it is instantly bad, the felling of the amazon is bad but once it's done the wood is of value and should not be wasted.
      
      Cloning does not bother me in the least and clones creatures and cells are fine to eat in every scientific sense.
      
      This product will have no human cells, on the other hand we accidentally ingest millions of human cells daily in our interactions with other people, so swallowing tons of human cells is fine and unconcerning but eating something that once touched some cells that once were part of a human body is horrifying and wrong... Yeah that is really logical man

      Hadn't you better stop breathing?  Every breath is taking in oxygen that has most likely been circulated through the bodies of countless humans.  Same with the carbon in anything you eat; it has already been through people at least once.

         ...understand it or not, you are helping me to make my point. The air is recycled by a NATURAL process, not a man-i-pulated one. The basic matter of each atom is a natural occurrence...not a manipulated occurrence. There is a difference...a big difference. Why do you think cloning hasn't been completely accomplished...it is so unnatural that it doesn't last...
         
         when one ingests unnatural elements, one's very being is manipulated and changed...
         
         I choose to do the best I can to maintain a natural state of being.
         
         There is a lot more to "getting it" than seen in responses received here so far. There is more  to a spiritual state of being than simple scientifically understood matter shows us.
