Define "soul" and you might get an answer that makes sense.

If you mean an imaginary but non-existent thing, the question cannot be answered.

If you mean the brain tissue or pattern of nerve connections forming memory, it dies and decays.

If you mean an supernatural, unprovable thing, no one knows as no one has ever followed and observed what happens.  Beliefs abound, however, and are as varied as any other religious belief.

It exists still.   It will exist forever in "hell" (torment),  or it will Live forever in Heaven.
There are no second chances after the body dies.
The time to make the choice is while we live here on earth.

Why do you think that and what makes you think we even have a soul?

Some things are not knowable till we experience it. Perhaps living each moment as it arrives is more useful.

All brain synapses come to an end and you, as a personality, cease to be. Your body outlasts you by 20 years or so, assuming a normal modern funeral.

Your soul is taken by angles to predetermined place in the heavens.  It is there that it receives a decision on it being a good soul or a bad soul, after that the soul is returned to the dead body.  The soul will experience the rewards of its deeds in the grave.  This place in the grave is known as Barzak (nearest english translation is Barrier)  The dead are able to feel, see and hear everything but their ability to interact with the living world is removed by God.

Immediately after you go your soul goes to the spirit world while you wait the the second coming of Christ. There in the spirit world, if you did not live the gospel of Jesus Christ, you will have the opporunity to learn of Him and accept him. After you are resurrected you will be placed into a kingdom of Heaven where you will be comfortable to live there for eternity.

Soul is Eternal and hence does not suffer from birth or death. Only bodies takes birth and die ultimately. The soul is also termed as Self, Atma or God. Soul is the basis for all we observe in the outer world and at the same time, it is a mere witness!
