I'm a new user to HubPages and have only posted three hubs so far. All of them are identified as featured after the QAP, but I've yet to see them anywhere other than in my profile.
I know I'm still in "boot camp", but unless I'm mistaken, that just means they can unpublish my posts at any time (which none of them are). Is this normal?
I'm rather new also, but I think when it says 'featured' all it means is that you can find it in Google searches, not that it is featured in Hubpages, in case that's what you were thinking.
"Featured" just means that your hub is available for indexing by google - it does not however mean that you will automatically start to get traffic. Getting on the first page of google for any search is far from easy especially if there is a lot of competition.
It takes a lot of research, hard work and often a healthy dose of luck to start to get traffic. Too many people start writing online expecting to suddenly make their fortune with a handful of pages and get very disillusioned when they don't. If you want to succeed then this is a full time job! It takes many people many month if not years to build traffic to the point where they begin to earn money.
I wasn't referring to Google though, I was referring to HubPages.
Never mind. I was wrong. I just wasn't looking right. My mistake.

Let me preface this by stating I am not trying to be mean or a troll. In fact, I avoid the forums because I don't want to get involved. But with so many posts about the topics I'm about to discuss, I wanted to put in my two cents and to offer a reality check to old and new hubbers...

I'm thinking the answer is probably yes?If you have hubs that have been deemed "not featured", for one reason or another, will that factor into lowering your overall score/rating as a HubPages member? Example--let's say your overall rating is 75. If 10 non featured hubs become...

There has been a lot of discussion in the last few days about HP changing the rules and people being un-featured or even un-published for spam and over promotional activity. So I just want to add my thoughts......Whether people (writers) like it or not most of their traffic will be coming from...

This morning I received an email from a Hubpages staff member regarding Google snippets (ie, Google Answer box) with this link. I would just like to say that this is something VERY worthwhile. I have been working on ranking this way for over a year, and so far am doing quite well with it. Remember...
