For believers only. Imagine that we are all God's children.

We like to say that it is a brutal world out there. Aye mate. We like to say that life is hard, hey buddy.

But we fool ourselves. We are all God's children. And it is tough to always look up instead of down. But if we do, we do not delude ourselves. And then when we look over there, we see another of God's Children.

And the world will be as one. I am a dirty rotten scumbag hairball of a man ---- but I am God's child also. Can you imagine God loves me. How much more will God love you?!! I am a dirty low belly snake in a rut in death valley, and yet God loves me. How much more will God love you?!! I shot man in Santa Fe, just to watch him die, and yet God loves me. How much more will God love you?!! I abandoned 3 children just to be free, and yet God loves me. How much more will God love you?!! I am sitting here wasting my life away with heroin and booze, and yet God loves me. How much more will God love you?!!

We take a hard look at ourselves and think we are loveless. We think we are the worst.

But if you be reading this you are loved not only by God but by me. Ah honey the road ain't sunny but don't you fret, cheer up honey, we will get there yet. You see I lay my head down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep. And then God takes all of my worthless woes and lays me down in deep slumber.

I would like to hear an Amen

A BIG amen!  It's so easy to be consumed by guilt.  My sister said to me recently, 'Every day, God flattens me like a pancake.'
In other words, He keeps us humble.  Yes, I make mistakes, like you, like everyone on this planet.  I don't know how God stands it, but His grace and mercy keep me going.  He promises it to us.

Sometimes I wonder how God puts up with me screwing up, apologizing, asking forgiveness, then I do the same thing the next day...or the next hour!

It's a wonderful mystery, this gift of salvation.  And it is free!  Nature is free, the sky, moon and stars are free, the bright sun is free...WE are free!  God's existence and blessings give me a reason to get up in the morning.

With all I have been through in my life, if not for the Holy Spirit living within me, I could not function.  I thank God for every blessing, of which there are multitudes...every day.  I just have to be aware, to not look, but to SEE.

My one solitary prayer is, "God please soften my heart and the hearts of everyone on this planet."   Amen and Amen   Blessings Sparklea smile

Beautiful, Eric. And Amen to it all.

God created us in His image and likeness and He is not Homo sapiens. Glad of that. Because of that beautiful fact, Noah's Flood was only an act of love. Trashing all the corrupted vehicles in order to save the drivers.

Yehoshua (Jesus), our loving brother, came back to rescue us. He showed us how. We need to give up the false self -- the ego (source of separateness and selfishness). We need to love each other as if we were each a part of ourselves. We need to celebrate in each success, mourn each death and praise each birth. And we need to glorify every reawakening spirit.

Blessed brothers and sisters, I have seen without human eyes, and I long to make that a permanent state. Over the last 42 years, I have come to understand what happened that blessed evening when finally I could see the light after so many millennia of darkness. I'm tired, and I want to go home. But I'd love to see everyone else return home, too. No more darkness. No more reliance on these human vehicles, that even Jesus talked about as if it were a cloak that he wore (Judas Gospels).

Praise be to God, our loving Father, and to our Brother, Jesus, who came to help us reclaim our birthright as children of God.

    Amen!

What I see here, what I know. Is that "He" is not apart from us, "he" is us.

Curiad -- If I may call you that :-) That thing, that illusive thing that is in all of us. That one thing you and I share -- I like to call it love. But it really denies itself a name. The "I am" or the "he" is cool. Something is there I just can't grab hold of it with anything but my heart.

      lone77star,
I am going to be rereading that at least 10 times. Each line has a nuance.

"For believers only!" Why, we could go on and on like the vast ocean!  We could write poems, lyrics for songs, we could raise each other up, we could save the world! What a great thing to post, Eric Dierker. This forum discussion will surely never die!

...and yet it could die. why? Eric? Why is sadness so much part of the human condition? What could Jesus mean when he says "the harvest is abundant but the laborers are few?"

In one culture I belong to we say Namaste. In another we say Ultreya and in yet another we say Com Ong. Another Ya Tah
But I say in all. Life is tough but suffering is optional. We die on the vine. Why? We must not only grow the vineyard but harvest and be harvested by it. We must be grapes picked and plucked. For truly there is no labor. There is only moving forth with love. If we look for the laborer we see him, stooped and sweating. If we look for abundance we see that the laborers are few. And we are the many. I do not and have not worked for a living since I beat cancer back in 95. I just get up and say thank you. And the rest of the day is without labor. Oh I toil for 12 hours a day, but I no longer labor.

-what is the harvest according to Jesus?

Amen to that indeed Eric. I am proud to count myself among God's children. I let Him guide me each day and begin and end my days with prayer. In my toughest moments I know He is always beside me. So I always try to look for some good in each and everyone I meet because we are all equal in the eyes of God. God bless.

    Is the harvest eternal life?
    what could that mean?
If I am God's child is there no death for me?
I have heard that we are here to get out of here.
    What could heaven be like?
How can we make sure to get to heaven.
    I'd sure like to know.
Sometimes it involves making decisions based on what is right
rather than what is wanted or easy.
Sometimes doing the right thing is tricky. Yes, God loves us after we have messed up, but boy do we feel bad, anyway.
Living proactively will certainly help matters.
