Hey everyone! My name is Brandon and I am a new Hubber from Houston, Texas! I have a brief question about hubscores on the profile and on my articles and how they differ.
For example, I noticed today as people read my hubs, my hubscore would rise on the article, but also noticed I still have a single-digit hubscore on my profile.
How do I get the needle moving on my profile's hubscore?
Hi MB, welcome to HubPages. You are only a few hours old give yourself some time as we all started in the same place. The more hubs, traffic, forum action and fans the more your scores shall move along but always have *quality* hubs n you will be sittin pretty in no time hope that helps n don't be so hard on yourself you just got here, hehe
Thanks guys! I appreciate your warm welcome to this community of amazing writers
Welcome to HP! Keep writing good stuff and your scores will keep rising. Your present score (9) will soon be suffixed with a 0 (zero) which would show as 90
Thanx MB for asking this question, as I also wanted to know it.
Thanx Other people for telling.. It will help all of us here...
Though the actual hub scores still baffles me. My biggest piece of trash hub got a score of 100 today. ???
I should be so lucky lol...but I have trouble understanding that system too...
ok...here we go again....to raise hubscore/draw views/acquire fans --
keep active--meaning post in forums, comment on others hubs, respond to comments on your own hubs, and publish hubs
be a part of the community--rate up a fellow hubber and move around reading hubs
publish good quality stuff
Take a look around-go see what high scoring hubbers do. Just keep in mind, that while there are things you can do to raise your score, there are also things that will lower it. Famming (spam fanning) and cut and paste hubs are biggies.
So, just get active for a day or two and see what happens. like the others said--your brand new, give it time
Most people get the whole Hubscore thing back to front.
A higher Hubscore won't get you anywhere. It won't get you extra readers, and it won't get you extra money.
On the other hand, if you're getting more readers and your Hubs have good earning potential, your Hubscore will go up.
Good information all thank you.
While a hubscore probably won't do anything I see it as a matter of pride, and probably why they added in the score to begin with. As for getting extra readers well I am sure people browsing would be less inclined to read a person with an 11 (my current score at this post) vs some of the 100s and 99s out there.
Just when I think I understand how a scores arrived at .
It doesnt make sense again. lol.
I guess its just a lil bit of everything ,but mostly (I think) to do with quality written hubs.
Having a high profile seems to help ,the longer youre here ,the greater your reputation etc.
All the best Brandon, and you have a good score starting out.
You will learn alot from others and use the search option too to find out all the 'tips an guides' to producing effective hubs.

I'd like to suggest we get rid of Hubber Score - and perhaps even Hub Scores. They:- are constantly misunderstood;- cause a lot of upset and grief in the forums; and- encourage newbie Hubbers to direct their efforts in entirely wrong directionsFor instance, I've known newbie Hubbers stop...

Just had a big drop on my profile score. And all my hubs were featured along with a steady 10 Editors Choice. I say 'were' because 3 were just unfeatured and I don't know what to do about that. My views are over 945,000. Boo-hoo. Hubpages doesn't love me anymore!

My title should have read another hub author score question . I have noticed this hubber that puts up a lot of hubs, however, they are all very short, most less than 100-200 words. The type of hub that can be put up in less than 15 mintues. And, the majority of their individual hub scores...

A month ago I announced some updates to HubScore: raw traffic is deemphasized, reader satisfaction is emphasized, and overall, the scores are a more accurate reflection of the quality of Hubs than they used to be. Today, I'd like to talk about the subsequent update to Hubber Score — the score...

For months I published no hubs and my hubber score sat around 96, in the last month I published three hubs, all of which are featured and each time I published one my hubber score dropped by two points, it's now down to 90. Is this how HP rewards us for our hard work? Correct me if I'm wrong but...
