ALoving God?

In the ancient pagan Roman religion, all you had to do was look into the night sky and see their gods, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Saturn and Jupiter. They move in arc patterns, and to the ancients, there's were living gods. Then the Jews introduced God. You can't see him, you just have to have to pretend he's there. But where? Even today, people pass God as a loving god even though he's responsible for slaughtering innocent men, women, and children throughout the Old Testament. For example, to prove a point with the Pharaoh in order to free the Jews (even though there's no evidence that the Egyptians held Jews as slaves), God took everything out on the Egyptian people including killing their first born male child! Nice guy! So according to the Bible, God killed tens or even hundreds of thousands of people. Satan killed 0. Usually mass murderers have insecurity issues and sure enough, so does God. Not only does he fail to show himself but the first four of the 10 Commandments deal with his insecurity and jealous issues. Modern science asks the question, "why do we still need a god?". Maybe it's because God is still big business. Churches rake in millions of untaxed dollars. The beauty is that modern science is always open for critical questions and will makes changes for new discoveries. But when it come to God, you either believe that crap or burn in hell! Or at least that's what the poorly educated, control freak pastors tell us.

The people whom God had slaughtered were 100% evil in their hearts.  They worshipped other gods.  Either your with God, or against Him.  These people were against Him.   Satan pretty much owned all of them; they just didn't realize it.

How do you know that?  Because the people that want you to believe in their god say so?  Because it turns the murdering creature of the bible into a loving god that deserves your worship?

God is our creator, therefore He can do what He wants with His creation.  Those people were under Satan's rule.

Can I assume from your answer ("Those people were under Satan's rule.") that you have no way of knowing but simply choose to make up that answer because it makes god seem loving even if He is not?

(It is a little hard to understand a newborn male infant being under Satan's rule so firmly that it must be killed).

(Especially when god is omnipotent and could have easily removed that child from the control of Satan...)

(Or, you know, remove Satan. Because that is always an option.)

Can't.  If you remove Satan there is no longer a reason to fear - the likelihood of following a god that kills infants goes 'way down.  As does the coppers hitting the collection plate.

                  Bingo, wilderness! You nailed it.

It's always astonishing to me to hear people say things like 'those people deserved to die because they were ruled by Satan'; Do they say such things out loud? Can they, I wonder? Can they even hear how incredibly mad that sounds? It's so incredibly easy for some to believe that, it's shocking, it's absolutely frightening that there are people still today who pay no mind to the tales of the slaughtering of innocent people and BABIES! and even think they deserved it...it's unfathomable to me how that type of barbaric mentality still thrives.

Isn't this the same and eventual mentality that the murdering religious extremists adopt to justify their terrorist acts? That those that die deserve to do so because they do not obey and submit to God's will and law? If not the same, very and dangerously near, IMO.

Better, I think, to demonize a whole race or nation of people (even knowing that most are innocent of any wrong doing) than to (shudder) entertain the though that their god is not the kind, loving being they want to think He is.

Thus, newborn Egyptian infants were ruled by Satan as they cried for food.

@ Lybrah - "Those people were under Satan's rule." You still didn't  answer Wilderness' question when he asked, "How do you know this?". Of course it's easier to make stuff up. It's amusing how some people simply know what ancient people were thinking even though such event never happened. Let me guess, Elvis is alive and never did drugs! What's even funnier is that Jews (the same people that brought you the Old Testament don't believe in Satan. Typical mainstream Jews quit taking the Old Testament literally since the 12th Century. It's all metaphoric. Plus it would take an average person 30 minutes of research to disprove these ridiculous Bible stories. Oh yeah, Elvis is not dead and never did drugs!

Worshipping other Gods is evil and these people should be put to death? Should we start with Hindu's?

Is that what your pastor told you?

Funny though never once does the bible say that those worshipping other gods were under the control of satan. If satan did own them and they didn't realise it then they were innocent. So murdering children and babies was justified? Was their livestock under Satan's control as well that it too needed to be slaughtered? Did a cow moo in a way that caused the israelites to think it sucked Satan's toes?

as usual, the non-believer spins a deceitful tale stating that everything a Christian believes is false. but it is the deceitful tale that spins falsehoods. the destruction that came upon the slaveholders was a result of their own evil activities. when the slaveholders denied the request of Moses, the destruction described by Moses began. moral individuals provide this same protection to the weak daily.  just as the slaves were protected by a loving God. Moses informed the evil slave holders to release the slaves they held or destruction would be forthcoming. the slaveholders refused and so the destruction began. this is the same as a law enforcement officer protecting the individual today. the negative deceit spread by the non-believer will never prevail because deceit can never be supported by truth. when evil is confronted, evil is destroyed. evil will always be destroyed because truth conquers all. the evil non-believer will never be able to put a positive spin on their theory because it is supported by untruth.

"moral individuals provide this same protection to the weak daily"

Really?  Moral people just flail about, harming everyone in reach, to protect the weak?  Because for sure that's what happened in Egypt; very few of those actually owning slaves were harmed; most of the harm went to those that happened to be Egyptians without regard to their behavior.  The babies of slave owners that couldn't even pronounce "slave" let alone own one, the slaves of slaveowners (that no longer had food after god destroyed so much of it), the women that starved to death, etc.

It is deceitful to hide part of the truth, particularly when it is so important to understanding the evil done by your god.  The evil people attempting to spin biblical tales into a wild and incorrect theory that their god is a moral creature should be ashamed of themselves.

I just assume that those babies would have grown up to be immoral, like their parents.  You have to understand that they were not godly people.  I suggest you do some research or read the bible itself.

So it's a valued choice to slaughter people we think are ungodly? The children have to be killed becauseā€¦ they would grow up the same as there parents even if raised by godly people? Are you justify and condoning genocide? Shall we start with all Hindu's? We'll kill the children and get the parents when they come running to save their children. Does that sound right to you? Would it sound right to you if a religious leader claimed God told him that it must be done?

The Christian god has long been known for punishing people for many generations for the sins of the father.  This is more of the same, is it not?  Dad's a bad guy so we'll assume the kid will one day be bad and kill it now.

You didn't live then, you didn't know the people.

Whereupon you make assumptions that will back up your concept of your god being a good guy.

Makes perfect sense if your myth is more important than truth.  Some people find truth more important, however, and will forever be asking why you make such calls without having anything to back you up.  Particularly when those assumptions include such things as whether or not an infant is a "godly" person and how it will grow up.

I just finished a sculpture titled, :God and Evolution, roots of hell: It's got a seven headed dragon crawling up from hell shooting fire on to the war ships and castle, armed to the teeth with big canons. On the outside of the planet is an evolution of 95% of the extinct animal species, were most were more successful than mankind.  in a ring of fire around earth.  I could not do a sculpture of Creationism or Evolution of each, or the many, would get soooo Madd!

About 99% mass of earth is on fire, beneath the 1% 6km High surface crust of the earth. Most Religious want us to fear God and the hell fire, like carrot and stick kind of way. So much for free will and unconditional love,

The other title thought was :Shaman's Sun Source:
It would include the Sun and Stars on fire too.

I wonder how many burning crosses I'll get for this?

        What do you think Rad?
