I am planning on taking a long trip.  I am going to write about it here on Hubpages.  My question is can I use some of my hubs to create an e-book about the trip or would that be considered duplicate content?  ...what say ye?

Yeah..but the forum is faster..especially on a Saturday.  If I don't get an authoritative answer I'll write them on Monday.

          Brie,

Please let us know what the higher ups say about your questions.  Logically you own your hubs so if nothing else you could un-publish which is something you probably don't want to do  The other thing is that a book that mentions Hub pages may make them happy.  I am looking forward to what they say.

      Brie:

I'm not sure about this, but I do know that HP does not allow content that has been published elsewhere and that you can only republish hubs if you first remove them from HP.

However, that may only refer to online writing.

Also, HP is a brand name.  Check with them first if you plan on using it in any way as you may be in violation of copyright doing that.

No, it definitely would not count as duplicate content.  Several Hubbers have published ebooks using their Hubs as content.

The difference is that the content of an ebook isn't published on a web page anywhere, it's inside the book.
