Why some people always want to win on their talk?

   There are peope who are what can aptly be described as an alpha personality.  These people want to be right at all costs.  Others are highly opinionated and quite self-assured regarding their particular premise; they believe that they are right while others who express different opinions are naive at best and totally wrong at worst.   This is part of the dominant personality.   Some are dominant and want to be the alpha.

      Yes, there are argumentative people who are looking for a good fight.  It is in their psychological makeup.  There are people who receive a visceral rush, like a high, from arguing with people although there is very little need to do so.   There are people who initiate arguments and other sources of verbal contentions and altercations in order to see the reaction of the so-called opponent.  Since the internet is an anonymous place, the attitude is to have a real go at it.   One can call it a digital gladitorial fest so to speak.
      
      Then there are others who are simpy devil advocates.   They love to present a controversial view to see how others will respond to the argument.  They are the types who continually create and instigate controversial views to goad others to respond and when the latter respond and/or counters the argument, the instigator creates even more of a controversial verbal stance to prove how correct/right/educated he/she is and how wrong/uneducated/nonsensical the so-called opponent is.  However, the instigator does not believe what he/she has stated but stated the controversial argument to goad the so-called opponent into a verbal altercation with the purpose of subduing the latter and winning at all costs.

   I don't mind a debate, but come on, sometimes I feel like saying, "Give It A Rest."  We have a forum now that is nothing more than beating a dead horse.

   I also would like to add that there are people who just love to state illogicalities and straw person's argument which result in the more logically minded to clarify the flaws in the former's arguments and contentions.  There are those who are masters of presenting illogicalities in their arguments and it is only proper to educate that person on the utter fallaciousness of their arguments.
