Hub indexing in Google

   Have been through confirming Google-indexed-hubs in my HP's account; I had to use the Google search with first paragraph of each hub in a quotation mark. It was a hectic experience and am wondering if there is any other fastest way of doing this- All the same; the results were impressive as all my hubs are indexed in Google including the one I published yesterday.
   
   Bonus question: Why do some hubs take too long to be indexed. I have had of some Hubs taking days or weeks to be indexed; what do they lack? Just wondering since I did not submit any hub to Google webmaster tools!

      Into search engine, type -- site:[url to your hubpages profile]
      
      Then hit search. It will show all of your pages that are indexed.
      
      So, you are using your subdomains url for this search -- [user-name] dot hubpages dot com
      
      In other words - site:barackjames.hubpages.com
      
      Hint: Don't put a space between the colon after "site" and your profile url. Strangely, it comes up with different results.

   If you copy paste just the link into Google and it shows up, it's indexed. Google finds webpages by what they call spiders. They crawl the internet for webpages. They go by a priority system. If there are a lit of places referring back to a link, that link will be indexed pretty fast.

   On HubPages, you shouldn't have to do anything to get a new Hub indexed on Google.  HP usually submits a new site map to all search engines about once an hour. Google, however, will not follow every link on a site map, especially on a site with the number of pages on HP.
   
   In the event your Hub has not been indexed within 24 hours, just submit the URL using your Google Webmaster tools, 'Fetch as Googlebot', feature.
   
   Getting a Hub indexed by Google is not the same as getting a Hub ranked for targeted keywords.  Just because Google knows about your Hub (indexed) does not mean it will show up on search engine results pages (ranked).  For that, you need to use good SEO.

   There is no extra effort to have your hub indexed until unless there is a reason to penalize. The bots keep track of new pages and index it sometimes it may be visited late as the web has overgrown.
   
   The best thing is to have your hub listed in bookmarking and networking sites like Facebook, Digg, Stumble Upon, Myspace etc.

      Many of those links, like Facebook, are 'NoFollow' links, which means Google will not use those links to index new pages. In fact, too many of those 'NoFollow' links can be detrimental to your Hub rankings on Google because they indicate that the webpage is NOT recommended by the backlinking site. (However, Facebook can be a great source of traffic if your Hub goes viral there!)

         It does help to be on Facebook and others like Google +  since search engines now take social media signals into account for ranking.  Nofollow is not a sin it is just an instruction. However writers have started to avoid Nofollow sites so as not to have too much of it as you have rightly pointed it out.

   Will adding the url to google url submit helps in HP indexing?
   Or do we need to claim the site. Most of my new hubs are not shown in google.
