Can I earn more views if I post a link of my hub to another website?
Can I place links of my hubs at the bottom of a actual hub?
Is link exchange accepted and encouraged by Google and its bots?
I am mainly interested in the potential of link exchange. Can this technique bring in favourable results in terms of SEO?
Link exchanges (i.e. websites that encourage link swaps) are against Adsense TOS so you can't use them here. Get caught and you can lose your Adsense account too.
You can post links to your other Hubs in your Hub, but ONLY if they are on the same subject. If they are unrelated, your Hub will be unpublished.
Reciprocal links - where a website points to your Hub and your Hub links back to the website - are ignored by Google unless the site is very reputable. It's too obvious that they've been arranged by the authors. Google wants natural links created by readers, not links created artificially by the author.
Link exchange systems - A big no. But when it comes to interlinking your related articles it is my belief that it should be acceptable. It just makes sense to link them together to increase your article visibility on the web. If Google is not giving visits then it just makes sense to lead people to your articles. I am speaking of course of interlinking related articles. People like myself who have been writing on the web for many years have thousands of articles out there and many are directly related to each other.
Yes, there's no problem with interlinking your own articles on the internet and it makes a lot of sense, as it helps build your profile.
Lorelei: Isn't those dubious link things also called Link Farms. People are actually paying for the very stuff that will ruin them.
I have been linking my Hubs that have similar content and then I link to other Hubs (not mine) that have related information. From everything I have read this is a good thing to do.
I would advise NOT to link to other people's Hubs very often. HubPages already has plenty of internal links, so there's no benefit in adding more - and you're just setting yourself up for a lot of extra work in future, as Hubs become unFeatured or Hubbers leave and delete Hubs.
I actually don't think they work. I've tried things like that on other sites in the past and got no benefit.
Link exchanges and link farms could lead to your site being put in Google's supposedly non existent Sandbox.
It is almost impossible to get out once in it!
I understand, but what if I put in the hub some links to related hubs that are not written by me? will that help?
If they are on related topics to yours that will not hurt. It should help, but Google now appears to like social links etc. more. They are just trying to make it harder for the out and out spammers to create links on autopilot.
Probably not. Those are internal links and HubPages already has a great many of those.
The other thing to consider is that people delete or change Hubs all the time, so if you do a lot of linking to other people's Hubs, you are setting yourself up for more broken links in the future. When a Hub is unpublished or deleted, the reader will get a "This Hub is not published" page.
Whereas if you link to a reputable website on the same topic and the site deletes the page, they're able to create a 301 redirect to send the reader to another relevant page. Plus you get some benfeit from being connected to a reputable site.
Marisa has a valid point Hubs will disappear over time and Hubbers can not re-direct like a real site might. Broken links will hurt more than any internal link, which are valued lower than external links to relevant sites.

Someone recently stated that there are limits to how much you can link to your own hubs. Does anybody know the limitations?

I've had links to my own related hubs snipped on several occasions (mostly blatant lists at the end of a hub), but some links have been left in place after several snips. So is it acceptable to include a link to a hub which may be very relevant to the specific content in a section of a hub, if it...
