I have to remind myself that it is Utah and crazy things go on there and with its neighbor to the north, Idaho. I guess the Governor is interested in preventing blindness or seeing that those 'special drawers' are regularly scrubbed?

For heaven's sake, don't these guys have better things to do?

Ha! Another left-Winger liberal attack against the Grand Old Party that is just trying to help us preserve our health, soul, and path to rebirth.

Amen, it's about time someone had the courage to stand-up to the liberal free-love everything-goes agenda. We all know that masturbation leads to blindness and hairy palms.

Thankfully I escaped with just a prescription for glasses and a supply of Nair-infused handi-wipes.

Ya gotta stop reading all these left-wing websites. Here are a couple that might help you tear away from their liberal clutches; Road to Perdition and Swimming Against the Tide

ps. The second link is from the Governor's own reading list.

pss. Just remember Cred, tolerance is a virtue, you know... different strokes for different folks. :-D

Great reading material, if the 4th amendment has any meaning at all it has got to reserve unto the people the right to self-eroticize........ We all better get that established quickly before Cruz gets elected as all genitals would then be placed in solitary confinement.

Cmon, GA, the Right is ridiculous!!

Hmm... 4th Amendment? Are you worried about them looking at it or grabbing it?

Nope, I won't agree that the Right is ridiculous, but some of them sure make it look that way.

There is nothing "grand" about the "Greed Over People" party. Hypocrisy is rampant in the neoconservative party. They talk the talk but few can actually walk the walk.

Porn? Curious you should take this topic to the public.  As an old lady I remember a time when it was acceptable to talk about death, but not sex. The two are closely related. Without sex you have no one dying.  Do you know literature well enough to recognize the the word play in that sentence? I'm actually laughing at the irony of the sentence.  Enough silly literary word playing.
What I mean is without procreation the population dies. In the last 40 years China has reduced it's population nearly in half. The average age of a Chinese person in China is around 50.
That trend is universal except in one population, which shall not be named.
My experience is that people who are seriously into pornography lose the ability to see people at anything more than objects.  Real sex isn't exotic enough if you are into porn.
While there are more accounts of sexual assault on college campuses I think statistics point to there really being less sex on campus or anywhere for that matter.
What is the ratio of men to women on most public universities?
I would almost consider your crack about Utah and Idaho judgmental, but you wouldn't be judgmental because that just isn't done. You would love how amazingly beautiful both states are.

I have a great deal of family in Utah and don't speak of places that I have not visited extensively. Physical beauty is one thing, but it does not equate to 'political beauty' which is another.

The points you make are well taken but belong on a psychiatrist's sofa not eminating from the office of the Governor. This man is out of line.

Are they really banning porn in Utah? Was there porn there in the first place?

I don't think that they can go there, so many touchy free speech issues. They would have to pull the plug on so many sources of popular entertainment, it would look like Iran.

But having spent time there, while the material was not outright banned it certainly was not readily available. Store managers would go to some grubby corner in the store to get you the skin mags if you insisted that that is what you wanted.

I had a artist Business partner from Utah.
For a few years traveling we stayed together in hotels across America. I could not ever catch him in his magic underwear.

The Mormans are very strict about sex and who is excepted into their family. So I imagine spilling our sacred seed all over the ground would be a great sin.

On the up side, when you are a good Morman when go to heaven you 33 babes and a planet to be king of. Much better than 51 virgins from hell like Muslims have.

That squeaky clean image associated with Utah is much on the surface. I remember trying to get into a tarvern and they require that I register as a member of the club to get a drink. They had state owned liquor stores.

But, I think since Salt Lake got the winter Olympic games sometime in the 1990s, they had to shake off a lot of provincial stuff. Did not want to be telling the French visitors that there would be hassles getting their wine. Sometime in the period they rebuilt Salt Lake International in anticipation of a lot more visitors and traffic.

Salt Lake has been attempting to compete with Denver for the focal point as the most up and coming city in the Rockies. But Denver is much larger, far more diverse and sophisticated.

At least in the earlier years around the time the Mormons said that Black folks were no longer confined to a second heaven, the church has been on the spot for having far too many tentacles in politics. I grew up with a lot of the stuff on grandma's TV.

But like a lot of groups like this, hypocrisy still reigns. The very concept of polygamy and their investing in tobacco, alcohol and caffeine products is contrary to what they teach their flock. I knew a lot of jack-mormons in Utah and Montana,  those who profess the faith but drank like fish and smoked like chimneys.

Those magic drawers have got to be a drag, how does anybody ever go swimming?
