For all you creative writers - if you want to improve your writing, do consider joining Critiquecircle.com.
It's not a competitor to HubPages and it's not a place to publish your work. It's a place to get feedback from other writers IN PRIVATE and it's free. You can publish short stories or novel chapters.
I've just signed up again as my novel is ready for another few sets of eyes. If anyone is interested in critiquing it, do sign up for the site and look out for my chapters - I'll return the favour!
Are you including me in this invitation? if yes or no, I congratulate you on your publishing success.
Have been researching Critique Circle and it does seem to be a good way to get constructive criticism and feedback on stories you've written. But, does anyone know if the site has a terms of use and privacy policy pages? I've looked around, but can't seem to find those pages anywhere.
Critique Circle's Help pages are called "Frequently Asked Questions":

If you're worried about publishing your stories on the site, the whole point is that the site is behind a login. Only members can see your stories, so there is no risk (as there is on HubPages) of scrapers copying your work.
Yeah, I did check the site, but just wondered if they were legit since I couldn't find their terms and policies anywhere. I sent them a tweet on Twitter, but they didn't respond either. And I had to wonder if the Critique Circle site was even still active. I guess I'll take another look at the site. I do want to get my stories critiqued. Thanks for your response.
It's legit and you can easily visit and see that it is very active.
Hello Marissa
I have become familiar with you because of your input here. I know most of my hubs are creative pieces rather than informationally focused hubs using the expected formula. I feel as if you might be speaking to me to move on from hubpages? Its true. I have gone over the trial period I assigned for myself here.
I did come here with the intrntion to try my hand at writing and to receive feedback together with potentially earning a income. But i have not moved on from that and my pieces are scored average to below. What do you or other's propose i need to do or should do? I am writing my first book of poems as well and am aiming to have it completed before New Year's eve.
It's certainly not an invitation for people to "move on"!
I do know it's not unusual for writers to have a secret novel hiding in a drawer (or these days, lurking somewhere in their computer files), and Critique Circle is a good place to get motivated to work on it. Some Hubbers post chapters on HubPages for feedback, but it's not a good place to do it, because it's public and vulnerable to theft.
Creative writing is not financially successful anywhere on the internet, really, and it has certainly never done well on HubPages. If you write poetry, you have to approach it in a particular way to make it work. Cardisa is one of the few poets who do well here, here are her tips:

I have a short story that I'd like critiqued and found "Critique Circle" in a google search which seems to have a nice format and a logical system set up. It has a Writer's Digest seal and I have great respect for that website.I have submitted my story for a contest even though I realize...

I have started writing on Hubpages few months ago, but till now I have only earned $0.01 so far. I know that I have to be patient with adsense. But I am really keen to know if you did anything made you successful here? as I have nearly gave up at some period of time. Please answer my question

Why do Hub writers not appreciate literary critique to improve their craft?I wrote a suggestion in the forum yesterday about adding the ability to include MINOR feedback to authors while rating articles in the Hub Hopper. I know peeps can get rude with critiques - but I think that can be minimized....

I now have 22 chapters of a novel up on HubPages. It has been an interesting experience. I have decided to continue. I am wondering what the experience others have had putting novels up here. Positive, negative? Since I am not planning to publish this except perhaps on line at Amazon or some...

This is my very first hub, so I'd love some feedback. I am testing different placement schemes for Amazon ads, so this is the one I thought I would try first. Thanks in advance for your feedback.Wrapping Paper Storage
