I woke up this morning to find someone tryed to steal my car. There was a key in which they tryed putting in the ignition that they thought belonged to it, but it didn't, they ramsacked the thing, throwing papers all over. Then they got in my other car but must have been to stupid to open the trunk, thank god. I called the cops and theres cameras across the street so hopefully they catch them. I cant lock my stealth but I told my husband, lets put a note taped to the stearing wheel that says, "Get a job and buy your own car, smile your on camera looser". I just really hate theives and wish the worst upon them..
Kmackey, you and cars do not go hand in hand. Either you are getting told your car stinks or someone is trying to steal your car or something. Do you suppose the person who said your car stinks was the culprit? lol. It very well could be that he/she was telling you that your car stinks to make you think that they did not like your car ...then turned around and tried to steal it? lmao. kiddn of course.
LOL no that was an old lady. The police said someones been going around getting in peoples cars around here, oh an Im an idiot for leaving it unlocked. I think it was a drug addict wanting to find money or things for drugs. This town is bad for being such a small town.
Maybe you ought to leave it unlocked and put some tacks or cactus thorns in the seat for them.
OMG that is brilliant. Ill put them in my stealth but hope I dont forget. haha that would suck.. I could place them under the seat cover.
Spell check that note before you put it on the steering wheel. Where do you live that there's a camera across the street, and is it somewhere these criminals might have seen or was it a hidden camera thing? I hope your insurance covers the damage.
I live in PA. Theres cameras at the funeral home across the street. I have no idea why. There wasnt any damage. They just put my papers all over the car. What did I spell wrong in that sentence?
Get a job and buy your own car, smile your on camera looser".
"looser" should be "loser". Anyway, I just got back from a week in Philly and am headed back in a few weeks. Are you near there?
sometimes I say looooooser. Looser is better than loser..
Im in bradford. Oh and sometimes I say loozer.
You can say it however you want. They'll get the message!
And wow, you're way up there on the NY line. I take it that's cow country?
Completely off the topic, but I wonder why a funeral home would need security cameras.
I am going to ask tommaro. I have no idea but I heard they are good cameras and capture at my house.
I don't want to know what someone would want to steal from a funeral home...
Try lo-jack, also.. neighborhood watches come in handy. I feel for you. That must have been a surreal feeling 80. How about installing a car alarm, small hidden cameras in the cars, next time.
Good luck, hugs to you and your family..
Jesus, KM, what a nightmare! My brother had his car set on fire when the basta**s couldn't steal it. They torched his car right in his driveway. It is scary to think this was all going on right outside your house. I hope they catch the losers.
Yea right outside my bedroom window. In a way I wish they would have started it. My car has glass packs, it rattles the house when its running, plus the insurence and registration are both out on it. They would have most likely been caught. And the clutch fluid was out so they wouldnt have got far. LOL
This world is full of a**holes. I hope those cameras were on and focused.
I have had my radio stolen twice, and I don't think I will ever get used to that sinking feeling of seeing glass around your car first thing in the morning. It is a bad way to start the day. There wasn't really anything the police could do in either case though.
I hope the camera got a good shot of the crook(s)!
I think after 2 times I would invest in cameras or a car alarm. Im thinking of a car alarm when I can afford it. I would love to just catch someone.
It would be neat to have a car alarm with a camera built into it, which could take a picture of the person driving the car every few minutes. Wonder if they make those yet...
Edit: Yep, just did a quick google for "camera car alarm" and found one with a night vision camera. That would be the way to go
that definitely sucks! I'm sorry Kmacekey and I hope they catch the losers too. And I think you should put that note on the steering wheel that would be great.
ya unless its on camera theres always nothing the police can do. What about finger prints, ya know. Or I guess that would be to much work.
Definitely too much work. When my niece was killed by a hit and run trucker in 2004, the ossifers didn't even check the bumpers (of the trucks still parked at the scene when cops arrived) for blood and remains of brains (her brain was literally blown out of the braincase and ended up 65 feet away from the point of impact on a 45 degree angle).
When I was in my 20's, I had some friends in from NYC. We went out to dinner down near Yale and had parked in one of Yale's parking lots. When we came out to get the car after dinner, the parking lot was all closed up and my car was gone. Turns out these thugs had been "faking" an open lot, taking peoples' money for parking and then picking the car of their choice and stealing it. While I was on the phone with the cops, the jerks drove by in my car!
The worst part is, the 16 year old that stole my car totalled it. He then sued me to pay his medical bills because it was my car!!! True story!
WOW I hope to god the kid lost in court when he sued you?
Fortunately I had a very good lawyer and we never got to court. But if I didn't have an attorney or couldn't afford one, I could've gotten screwed.
But can you believe the nerve of that kid and his family???
No I cant. Man I would just like to smack someone like that!!
I know what you mean! I'll hold'em. You smack'em!
Sorry for what you went through with your car. Hope you catch the buggers.
I know it. well they didnt get anything but its just the point. Im going to put tacks under my seat cover as soon as it stops raining. LMAO
And then put Crazy Glue on the steering wheel!!! LOL!
Be sure to inform your husband if he ever uses that car. You wouldn't want it to backfire on ya. That would be a tough one to explain.
Well then, have at it! (although I wouldn't. that's the sort of thing I'd forget about and 'get' myself later)
I know. I was kind of thinking about that too.
Do you guys have a dog? Seems like the kind of thing a dog would hear and make a racket over, thus alerting you.
That is freaking nuts.... you should write a hub on that experience.
Good idea! Kristy you've been having a run of bad luck lately, I hope things turn around for you soon.
This is slightly off topic-- but reminded me of a security tip i heard that i thought was pretty good.
If you park your car next to your house, or in an attached garage, you should keep your car remote close to your bedside.
This way, if you hear an intruder, someone trying to open a window in your house or even someone messing with your car, you can push the Horn button and cause a bit of commotion that might scare away someone with evil intentions.
My car is next to my house, actually next to my bedroom, but I dont have an alarm plus I sleep very soundly..
I know it's cheesy, but a club still does the trick...Sure they could still set your car on fire like Davina's brother out of spite.
LOL maybe cuz now I'm on my iPhone because my computer keeps turning off. So if I type all messed up, sorry. LOL
I tryed saying I word ny, 20 min away an it changed the word ny to by. Finally I got back online and fixed it. Never mind. Ill be ok now. HAHA
My Iphone changes words on me and I don't notice till I hit send. And I couldn't get back in to edit it.. LOL
seriously cuz the car has glass packs on it...OMG I mean the ignition not a fire.
Blond moment. Now I see why you laughed...
Modern car's anti theft devices are making new problems. With many cars near impossible to steal without the keys they are the new target.
My boss heard a noise downstairs one night, thought it was just the wind. Next morning finds theives broke in and stole both their cars. Didn't bother with anything in the house.
They were just glad they din't go down to investigate - it wouldn't be pretty bumping into at least two felons plus the bar they used to gain access.

Are cars with push-button start/ignition easier to steal?I was recently considering leasing a Mitsubishi Lancer with push-button start. Haven't made a decision yet (or visited the dealer) but it seems to me that the push-button start makes these vehicles easier to steal. Any thoughts?

Why do you think looters believe what they steal is owed to them?Recent looters in New York, after Hurricane Sandy's destruction, were interviewed and asked why they looted? They replied, "I got back what was owed to me."

If you haven't kept up to date on the issues in Ferguson, here is a drastically simplified version of events:1. On August 9th, a St. Louis County police officer shot an unarmed 18-year-old young black man. 2. The officer shot him SIX TIMES. With a pause in between. The office shot twice,...

What are you going to do the day after the election?I think most of us pretty much know who we are voting for at this point, so no matter who wins - lets let the cards fall where they may and look ahead: how will you start de-stressing after the hairy-scary national show is over? Will you be okay if...
