      I know something about this. if you wanna know the meaning of the colour, you have to answer yourself: why do I choose this colour. In most cases, I think colours refer to friendship (since people are of different colours and by colours here I mean different mentalities, religions, background...etc) For example, I like te colour blue bcz I think it is classy and neat. Hence, i like classy and neat people or friends!

          haha.

          as far as colors that I wear, I wear a lot of chocolate brown (double-breasted jackets, etc.), black and white (white shirts, black vests) and charcoal gray (slacks and pencil skirts), olive green and bright (lapis) blue shirts, etc. sometimes I wear red shirts and even though I LOVE pink and blue and green, I don't wear those colors that much unless PJ's count...

      White and black are indeed colors. Color is produced by reflected light; when the entire spectrum is reflected, you get white. With no reflection you get black. As a commercial printer, I can tell you that black has as many shades as red or blue do. It can be hard to distinguish them, unless they are right next to each other.

      My favorite has always been blue.

    I guess it all depends on what mood I'm in:

    Happy = Yellow

    Angry = Red

    Somber = Blue

    These are all the primary colors too, by the way big_smile

        dohn121posted 14 years agoin reply to this

        No big_smile  There are only three primary colors.  Every color that we know of are created with only these three colors...

        Yellow + Blue = Green

        Blue + Red = Purple

        Yellow + Red = Orange

        Etc. smile

    What a cool thread!  Of course I'm an artist, so, it figures.  (Also a welcome change from the angry old political forum these days, lol.)

    I love all colors & the language of colors...

    I love wine red that turns into scarlet.  Lapis blue, a color so rich it makes you think of some foreign water lily.  Orange-yellow, the color of a soft field right before harvest.  Black--particularly Ivory Black, an oil paint color that is actually made from charred animal bones.  White--a foundation color that adds brilliance to all things...painters used to add marble dust to white to pick up the luminosity...some still do!

      I love reds and burgandys, and wear them a lot.  Years ago 'color coding' was big, and I was designated a 'winter' and told I would look good in any shade or family of blue.  THat may be true, but when I wear red, I've been told more than once, "wow, that's your color".

      I like earth tones, but as clothes, they do not look good on me at all.

    I love color, I paint in bold colors, and wear colorful casual clothes.  However in business I tend to stay with earth colors.  Colors are magical, the changing of the leaves in North Carolina are breathless, the sky at sunrise and sunset, I'm a firm believer that God was an artist.

    What an interesting topic. For the life of me I can not think of my favourite colour. I look at colours and think, wow that's beautiful.

    I guess it depends on the glow. Most colours are beautiful depending on the shade of the colour and the light refecting off the colour.

    An African sunset is an orange fireball, that's beautiful. However the smell of the African  bush (the wild)and the sunset, takes on a whole new dimension of colour.

    I have this weird thing called synesthesia, where I see things in color that I shouldn't; mainly I see notes and days of the weeks in colors because my senses are mixed up. But that said, I've always seen myself as being "blue." It's my favorite color, so I guess that's why.

    I have always been attracted to black, even as a child. I wear mostly black clothing and my apt. consists of black curtains, furniture, vases and candles. I paint alot of abstracts and though I try to add more color to them, black usually takes over.
