    Odd, this was a Republican idea and platform a few years ago and now they hate it.  Can you explain this to me?

    I would have hated it then! If you want to pay more for your energy than its worth then I guess you will stay partisan on this matter, if you don't want to be the governments endless piggybank say something!

    The problem with Cap and Trade is that it has been shown to be ineffective and wasteful.  The European Union passed a Cap and Trade policy several years back and all it did was open another trading market (the trade for tax credits) and has not reduced pollution at all.  Cap and Trade is just another way for government to extend their reach into every nook and cranny of our financial lives.  Of course both parties want it--money=control=power.  The sad thing is that so many people actually believe it will reduce pollution.
