I have been working almost 4 hours on a new hub and I keep coming back to the forum.

This place is too addicting, so how do all of you divide your time between Hubbing and the forums.

It's a fine line.  Try using the forums to get ideas about hubs to write.

Can't give good advice on this one, Dale.  I'm so guilty of procrastinating on the forums.  I will sometimes VOW to stay off until I finish my hub.  Then it's like my little reward...  I feel for you.  smile

Can't help you, Dale. Right now my HP time is 10% maintining my existing account, 90% forums, 0% writing hubs.  (With the occasional exception; did one a few days ago.)  Naturally, I have an excuse lined up:  Building a house, installing a wind turbine, building a platform for a water storage tank, chasing an ephemeral mattress we need for  my wife's bed...etc.  So I bagged writing hubs "for the duration", since it's not uncommon to lose 6 hours just getting one done.

My excuse for hanging in at the forums?  It's my way to unwind from the day, chill....

At least that's what I tell my  wife when she asks. lol

Good one Ghost. I'll remember this the next time my husband looks over my shoulder when I'm on the computer lol.

Seriously, Dale, I can sympathize with you. Took me over a week to get my 50th hub and I knew I could have reached it last week! But then again, the forums can be so interesting, sometimes more interesting than writing hubs smile.

Sheesh!  My last hub was 12 days ago!  I've never had that much time elapse between writing hubs!  But I paid my due...My hubberscore dropped like Enron stock lol  Welcome back to reality!  Yes, thank you forums!

I've had up to eight months (maybe ten) elapse between hubs.  Score dropped, but not through the floor.  Unlike Ezine Articles, which deleted my (admittedly ONLY) article completely and revoked my Expert Author button for doing the same thing over there.

'Course, if I'd had 67 Ezine Articles at the time, like I did have 67 hubs, maybe 'twould have been different.  But to this day, all Ezine gets from me any more is the fickle finger. lol

Really, Ghost???  How long was the hiatus before Ezine dropped you?  I wrote an article for them about a month ago.  Now I'm scared...Sad to say, I was counting on them as a bonafide backlink to my second home: Hubpages (of course).

If you are in this to make money then Ezine will be one of your best friends.

I have articles under a penname that gets 60% click thru which means I have had over half a million clickthrus on just one article.  That doesnt count the countles views and click thrus I have got from all my other articles.

Ahhhh, the forum. The place for entertainment, bullcrap, relaxing with a beer while reading over the various threads that make one say WTF? Great pictures at times, and the haunt of little butt sniffing trolls.

The thing about the forums, to me, is that there are always topics dealing with what I am going through.  I like the fact that we are all just normal people with real problems.  I feel comforted knowing I am not alone in my plight.  Sometimes, I am looking for inspiration. Sometimes, I suffer from writer's block, so I use the forums as a crutch to keep in touch with the community when I just can't think of anything interesting to write.
