The GOP trounces the Marxists in New Jersey and Virginia.  Obama, your days are numbered...

So, the GOP won back VA. But how did they lose such a conservative state to begin with? Thought I'd ask since conservatives seem to have difficulty acknowledging it.

Because the previous president was a Republican. Virginia tends to elect governors of the party opposite that of the president.

It's actually not.  If you remember, Virginia has (in Presidential races) voted republican for as long as anyone on this forum has been alive until 2008.  The list of bellweather states are as follows: Nevada, Delaware, Ohio, Florida, Tennessee, Missouri.

        The Marxists?

        Don't be so naive.

Marxists? The former chairman of Goldman Sachs, a Marxist? And the Dem who lost in Virginia ran on a platform to the right of many Republicans.

And don't forget that the GOP right wingers shot itself in the foot in the usually GOP Congressional District in upstate York where the right wing "independent" Hoffman lost to Dem Owen.

I suggest you don't count your chickens before they're hatched.

If other countries want to embrace socialism that's their problem. History points to where that is likely to lead them...
