This forum is the community of Hubpages were we can communicate. I was just thinking why not ad some fun random things in? Like the top 50 posters and The top 50 posters of the day? I think it would be interesting to know and add more of a sense of forum community. It doesn't really serve a purpose but it's something people can check out smile

I was also thinking why not have a chat? Like mIRC. Or anything really, a text chat for the browser even (but one that you can register peoples Hubaccount names into). And another interesting idea I think would be a PM Member feature. Where a Hubber can talk to another Hubber in real time. Basicly, on the profile page just have a buttion with the status of the Hubber (online or offline) and if there online you can send a pm request to them, if they hit accept you both can type to eachother and eachother only, if you hit decline it gives you a time frame on when the person can try to send you another invite. For example 1 hour, the person who tried to contact that person can't for one hour. Lastly, there can be a toggle for having chat requests on\off so if you want to be online and not bothered at all then you just click that.

Also, instead of using real email when you contact them, why not have a internal site email? That way you send the email account to account, and there is no chance to ad scripts because you can control that. I think this will be VERY beneficial to Hubpages as a community.

Just a few suggestions to better the community, thanks for reading smile

I was thinking about it. Yes, I think we can have an inbox for mails here itself smile

Chat has been proposed before, and the majority don't like the idea.

Personally, I find it a waste of time (though I will concede that it can be fun). Chat doesn't lend itself to being an easily searchable resource for others to learn after the discussion is done.

I think chat and internal email system like that tends to create personal conflict or personal problems. And that would diminish the value of HP... That's my opinion.

We already have a discussion forum in HP so do not need a chatoom, but idea of sending e-mail through HP is excellent.

I thought it would be, because by emailing other hubbers we can talk to them privately and not worry about a virus or anything from an email. This is especially handy in case you have a Hub, and it has something to do with another's and you want to link them both, you can talk to the author of the other to add the link to theirs. Example:
I have a hub about pills-how there made and the looks of a factory.
I see someone with the hub pill containers-how there made.
I can then email them in Hubpages (so they can't not see it (they can ingore it and delete if wanting to) and they can then reply to it).

Because I thought about this idea many times, most authors have no way to contact them and when you send them an email using the Hubpages contact it just says "we try our best it gets to them" but I don't think it ever does...They ether put a fake email in there or just goes to spam. This would solve that problem.
